I hashed this argument out yesterday, so I won't re-litigate it. But I find this desire for eternal mediocrity confounding.

I think going the way of Tampa Bay instead of those other franchises is the way to go. They were in the mix always except for two hit and runs at the top of the draft with Stamkos and Hedman (Drouin came from the lockout year which was all screwed up) and then built their team without having to consistently purposely bottom out.

We should be more like them instead of Edmonton, Buffalo and Arizona.

You need to be "lucky" enough (have good enough scouts) to land some of the guys like Johnson, Kucherov, Point, etc

I think Zucc gets done in the next few hours
Agree, and sooner the better......for Zuccha, everyone here (except you know who), Gorton and the Rangers. Giving time time, and allowing time for the still impending moves around the league that changes those impending moves.

Meaning, say Zuccha goes to Calgary.....doesn't that push things a little further with teams they are competing with?
When the PRICE is known for Zuccha, doesnt that change things a little? Wow, this is pretty cool when you think things are going the Rangers way for a change. Also knowing there is still the possibility of him coming back, whether Fluffier wants that or not. Lol. Personally, I would want what Zuccha wants, for him. But, we all know you can't always get what you want. Right?

We haven't even bottomed out once. The point of trading Zucc and Hayes is to actually try to do that this year. I don't get your point. You want to have your cake and eat it too. We are not getting a Stamkos or Hedman level in the draft if we keep all of these guys.

Would be really risky for Nashville to empty their cupboard for two UFA's when there is a team as good as Tampa that, in all likelihood, they'll have to get past to win the Cup

Just Saying in the three seasons prior to drafting Stamkos they won a Cup and were in the playoffs.

As opposed to a team like Buffalo who hadn't sniffed the playoffs for years prior to Eichel and dahlin and are still no closer.
