yes pla, i’m sick of hearing about how “not that bad” he is

because that’s the hallmark of a valuable player

I mean he's certainly not part of our long term core, but he is a solid 3rd liner on a reasonable contract.

Why is it that you bash Gorton every time he makes a trade?

Really? Go back and check that before throwing out a baseless claim. I praised him for Zibanejad and I just said he did fine on Hayes. I liked the moves he made for raddysh and the picks and I loved the Stepan deal just a terrible choice made with it.

But he did a terrible job not moving guys at last year’s deadline and or over the summer. I’ve said that for months. The Zucc return is the period at the end of it. He’s got a lot of work to do still and he’s running out of time again

I hope your wrong because he doesn't have a lot of trade value at the moment but that may change between know and the draft

I'm almost certainly wrong haha. I have to imagine he has more value than Namestikov though, especially with his cap hit.

I'd be happy to forfeit Tampa's 2019 pick and instead get their 2020 1st if they win the Cup.

With the Hayes trade, Rangers pretty much will try to draft a top 6 Center with their first pick. Sure, they can try to resign Hayes. Or some other C in off season but a 2nd line Center is now a priority in the first round.

He's been scoring 15-20 per season. In today's NHL that has some value. Look at what Dzingel just got as a 20-25 guy. I imagine Vesey could get a 2nd rounder straight up in the right market.

For teams desperate to add secondary scoring, the fact that he's somewhat mediocre isnt going to be a deal breaker. Didn't stop us from bringing in Clowe during his worst ever season.

*Yes I realize some of you had forgotten the Clowe deal and I apologize for bringing back that repressed memory.

Or they can try Strome while we wait to see if Lias or Howden can fit in that spot

So many of our guys are crap.

Until we move them.

Then they should be returning boatloads of prime assets.

I'd love to see how we'd do in the exciting worlds of retail or realty.

"This Hanes t-shirt is stained, the seams are coming out, and my cat used it to give birth to a litter of kittens. I'll sell it to you for a Benjamin."

Not how it works.

Idk how the kittens thing is a negative... sounds cute tbh

Given that Zuccarello to Dallas and Hayes to Winnipeg had been rumored for so long, it appears to me that Gorton got his essential business off the early table to leave time to cobble something else together. An assistant GM can make the McQuaid deal. He’s not at Starbucks right now.
I'd also hold on McQuaid as long as possible...what do we have to lose ? A late round pick for a possible 2nd to a desperate team like Penguins or Leafs ? Worth holding I figure .

If we're expecting a not top 3 pick to step into the NHL and be a #2 center in their D+1... we are setting ourselves up for disappointment.

Maybe your right but I see his size and skating as high end tools and believe that he may put his game together and become an asset for the Rangers

Every time I see this guy, my blood boils with irrational hatred.

That Claesson might fetch a return is an unexpected surprise.

Hard to believe so many teams want the #6 and #7 guys on a bottom 3 defense.
