GDT: Official Trade Deadline Thread Part XXXI

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. I mean you can't really stop people from calling. I don't think their caller ID lets them know who the intended target is.

But now that I think about it. I am trademarking that.

Oh, I'm not expecting anyone we pick to be a top 6 next year. Just saying, we have nothing on the team or in the system currently that we feel confident will be a 2nd line center going forward. Lias and Howden are 3c's until they show a leap forward in their development. Long term, I'm not sure either are that 2nd line center. So, organizationally, we are beyond thin when it comes top 6 center depth.

Hold on to McQuaid until final 15 minutes of deadline and then get a 4th- 5th with the condition we get a higher pick with every series win by that team with a 2nd being the most for us ....plus we retain ....haha...and trade him to an ALREADY big time favorite .

Getting an asset for Claesson would be pretty good asset management, but I think I would prefer just to keep him. He's an RFA and will probably be extremely cheap to sign on a 2 or 3-year deal. But with the amount of young defenseman and being stuck with Smith, it makes sense to move him.

Yea, a team that is mid-rebuild does not NEED a 2c that is elite. And we have plenty of kids we can rotate through to see if they are worth being the 2c in training (50/72/21)....oh, and Boo, Boo is our future 1c, right?
 
Claesson would be a really good get for a playoff team. He’s a solid player. Not surprised teams are calling
