Rantanen wasn't really that productive with the Canes, which is what lead to him being on the move again so quickly. If I were a Canes fan, I'd at least be okay with getting some value out of a guy who would be unlikely to re-sign anyway.
Honestly, for someone who's won a cup, I don't think it's completely out of the question that Rantanen looked at Brind'Amour's system and was like, "That's not gonna work in the playoffs."

Whatever. Good riddance.

Thank you God. Bobby Mac coming out of retirement to spit some shit that only raised my blood pressure to dangerous levels is not what I needed.

Go back home Bobby. Never scare me like that again

If Carolina just holds on to these first round picks, you need to fire that GM. What an absolute fumble.
IMO, Carolina has always been a "pretend" threat. Never a real one. Between the GM and the coach, I don't see how they ever get over the hump. Rod the Bod deserves a lot more criticism than he gets. Of all the coaches who teach teams to win in the regular season, and fail in the playoffs, he's the blueprint.

Only have years of evidence by this point of the Hurricanes being media darlings and not even having done as much as win a single game past the 2nd round of the playoffs since 2019.

This year would've been and will be no different.

Depending on what they do with those 2 1st and 2 3rd, the Canes can still save face.

Imagine they trade for Boeser and he doesn't re-sign with them? Lmao

John Tortorella and Barry Trotz exposed possession, high-volume-shots hockey for a fraud, IMO. We adapted in 2020 and never looked back, but other teams never did. The Canes get turned into a perimeter team year in, year out.

So basically, Carolina has turned Necas, Drury, a 2nd, 3rd and 4th into Stankoven, 2x 1sts and 2x 3rds (plus Taylor Hall). It's not a bad return provided the Canes.use the 1st's (or at least one of them and the 3rd's) to upgrade some more.

I labeled the Canes as frauds after the 2021 series against us, and I haven't seen a single thing since then that would change my opinion. Rantanen could've been that X factor they need.

One thing of canes also they never gad a steady healthy goalie that can win it all. They went two goaltender which helps regular season during playoffs it shows.

Colorado and Dallas going nuclear.

Truly hope we can make one or two more moves (players in players out) to upgrade bottom six and 3LD.

re the Rantanen deal: People online messaging me that higher property tax in Dallas (compared to Denver) offsets the difference in income tax is exhibit A why I haven't been on these boards in forever.

That is all.

I never knew there were so many accountants, real estate agents, and tax attorneys on HF Boards, tbh.
