Seriously, why are we going here? Not going to end well.

We didn't. Howard Bryant did.
That is why I posted the warning - we won't allow it to derail.
Howard bryant represents a sports entity. Some discussion on stuff like this should be allowed. I understand putting warnings out there etc but do we really need to be this sensitive?
The discussion is inherently political. "Derailing" wouldn't be the right word for a subject that would take a natural course.
Are we finally just admitting this thread as a whole is pointless? That it's all about self-important media types farting away on whatever platform someone has given to them and their fans and/or haters saying "YAY!" or "NAY!"? Because if all we're talking about are the parties involved sniping one another for the drama and not the subject which is against the rules of the forum, that seems pretty pointless.
Precisely my point. The wiping out of pages is what i'm talking about in terms of being sensitive. I don't care that much, just think some level of discussion should be allowed.
"Hey guys! We didn't lose much because no one watches us anyway! Profit!!!!" - Fox Sports
But this is not political - it is cultural which is a slippery slope of its own.
Howard Bryant has an agenda and here is an important point - ESPN allowed it in the magazine which has a stronger vetting process than the website. None of us were there when the incident with his wife happened. It was dealt with in the courts and he has no record but he has been convicted by many in the court of popular opinion.
The next move is up to ESPN. Will they publish the article on the main website?
I can't comment on the article until I read it. (I've seen quotes but that is all)
All we can so is see what if anything happens tomorrow and go from there.
I think many of us would cut the cord tomorrow if we could have a secure way of getting access to NESN and CSN for local sports ( The Patriots do not figure in this )
I would love to tell Comcast to stick it and go to another option but living in Cambridge how would I then get internet???? RCN and Fios are not options in the city and for stand alone internet Comcast is expensive.
The landscape in changing - next year the NFL will be televising games on TWITTER
I have DirectTV and get the Center Ice package. I also get all regional sports channels because I'm the weirdo who likes watching random Missouri Valley conference basketball games and indoor lacrosse. I don't like watching stuff on a tablet and no, just having Netflix or Hulu isn't enough for me. I'm someone who still enjoys flipping on the tv and watching a random movie on TCM or reruns of Seinfeld.
Some people may consider this nit-picking, but things like this p$ss me off.
On Mike Lynch's two minute sportscast last night, his 20 seconds on the Stanley Cup Final focused on Jumbo Joe and Phil the Thrill. Only problem is that instead of showing Phil Kessel's video when announcing his name, they showed Patrick fricking Hornqvist!
I know it's probably some knucklehead that was putting the video together and it wasn't Lynchie's fault. But I truly wonder if Lynchie even realized it or cared.

As somebody who has been stuck with Comcast and Time Warner in the past I can say that Comcast might actually be better. With Comcast at least I generally get the channels I pay for...not a firm guarantee with TW from my experience. I guess it is like being the tallest keebler elf.
Direct Tv is probably the way to go nowadays
DirectTV is expensive but I guess they all are. But other than losing the signal during heavy snow or rain, we've never had an outage. The funny thing about DirectTV is they will add channels to their lineup and not say a thing one day you suddenly have a new station. Of course it's usually something bizarre like Rural Farm Channel or whatever.
I live in a high rise so DirecTV is out - but still you need an internet connection
