Biggest PUFF piece in history

"He was livid"
Give me a break, no he wasn't. Captain Hindsight in the flesh.

lets not forget..................
if Columbus says any name other than PLD we commit probably the worst trade in the NHL in the past 20 years

5th, horvat, Tanev for Subban
In hindsight would that be much different than how it did work out?

Tanev lost for free, 5th overall pissed away on a one year forth liner, and we end up with a right shot D in Hronek instead of Subban.

I wonder if Aquaman was 'livid' when the Canucks picked Jake Virtanen in 2014 instead of William Nylander or Nic Ehlers?

Was he livid when Benning traded Jared McCann and a flock of draft picks to Florida for Eric Gudbranson, who face-planted in Vancouver, but still got an insane $4m contract extension?

Could he have been 'livid' when Benning traded an affordable third line center in Nick Bonino and a bunch more draft picks for Brandon Sutter, who wasn't even as good as Bonino. But he still got another ridiculous contract extension out of the Canucks.

Or was he 'livid' when in the last year of his reign or error, Jim Benning traded a top-10 first and a second rounder for Garland and OEL, which landed them in cap hell? Of course the three guys he dumped on Arizona, Roussel, Eriksson and Jay Beagle, were three of Jimbo's worst-ever UFA signings.

Bottom line, Aquilini is an emperor with no clothes. It's the long-suffering Canuck fans who should be 'livid'.

are any of us still livid about any of this, or is aqua just a fact of life?

for a long time i thought the canucks were cursed. now it’s more like we live with aqua as a cap on our success, which i guess is kind of like a curse, only neither spooky nor interesting.

I dont believe Aquaman was ever livid at the actual drafts. I dont think he had any more knowledge than the average punter.

Speaking for myself..I wanted Nylander in 2014, and Tkachuk in 2016..Disappointed at first that we didnt pick my first choices, ..I thought that Juolevi ,Virtanen would at least be useful impact NHL players in the years ahead, given time..not completely f***ing useless.

In 2017, my first choice was Cody Glass,...we picked EP...I hoped that he would at least be a useful player...

Strange.

Pettersson turned out to be bonafied star, Glass is just there.
With Tkachuk, FA just making himself look even worse. I mean in 2021 when he brought JB back MT had been in the nhl for 5 seasons. OJ the team had to consider waivers for him.

To be fair, Glass+ Nylander + Tkatchuk, would be better than just EP. Nothing against EP of course.

Agreed..In a 2016 redraft Tkachuk would be taken 2nd OA..Not only a great player, but his intangibles (leadership) are through the roof…Franchise player.

One of the funniest things Aqua did in the last presser was when he said he wasn't Jerry Jones. I'm like, actually, you are exactly like Jerry Jones.
I REALLY hate defending a statement of Aquilini's, but in this case he's not wrong. Of course, the ways in which he isn't wrong may not be what he intended.

Jones makes no bones about being the Cowboys' GM. Aquilini isn't that open about exercising his influence. Pretty clearly in their accepting responsibility for their influence on their teams they aren't the same.

I also happen to believe that Jones knows a fair bit more about football than Aquilini (and Benning for that matter) about hockey.

In addition, Jones being his own GM has never left anyone as incompetent and damaging to the team as Benning in charge for the length of time Aquilini did. IN that way too Aquilini is no Jerry Jones.

In case it isn't clear from what I'm saying, I'm not in any way saying that Aquilini hasn't exercised influence over the Canucks nor that he's done so in a good way, nor am I singing the praises of Jerry Jones. Being a better GM than Jim Benning and knowing more about his sport than FAq are two really, really low bars. Jones can be really bad and still rank higher than those two.

Trying to piece together the timeline

Juolevi was 2016
Just googled it and OEL trade was summer 2021

when did we truly know Juolevi was a$$ and he took a nap during a bag skate?
was that 2020?

clearly wasn't livid enough to let him keep his job and commit one of the worst trades ever.

Heh it's pretty obvious that Fredolini is basically full of shit, and has been for a long time.

That article is seething with childish desperation, and I mean SEEEEEEETHING. It might as well be a dog ate my homework kind of excuse.

Kind of like the movie the "Rock" with Connery, Cage, Harris. Where the soldiers say to Harris' character, "Great, we're not gutless, we're incompetent".

That is what FA is coming across, "I'm not a Meddler, I'm just Incompetent"

Fredolini should really just shut the f*** up from this point on.

Leave the talking to Moleman and Skeletor.

Seem to recall somebody posted a photo on Twitter a few years back of Aquilini breaking bread with Pettersson and Hughes at an eatery on Robson Street, not long before Green and Benning walked the plank.

Doesn't inspire much confidence if you're in the Canuck front office......that apparently owner thinks nothing of arranging his own meetings with the players. Talk about being sandbagged.

But that just the reality of the current ownership situation in Vancouver.

“Carla was the Prom Queen.” is like the height of Nic Cage cool.

Jokes aside, "Color Out of Space" was actually a very competent movie. If you're interested in Lovecraftian cosmic horror, I would recommend that movie. His (meme) acting fitted into the story quite well.

Please tell me the three most mainstream examples of this genre.
