I fully believe samberg changes that series... avs cant run hard on the forecheck against pionk with samberg instead of dillon... with pionk thrown off his game - jomo.was trapped as our shutdown guy and

Dallas had more defensive depth than us so that eliminated the avs cheating on the forecheck...

Crisp breakout passes eliminate rhe avs game plan - but our forward were still cheating and our D was rattled... never recovered
Yeah Stanley-Samberg was a disaster. A real self-inflicted wound. And by the time they stopped shooting themselves in the foot, everything else had come apart. It wasn't the only thing, but it was one of the dominoes for sure.

An unfairly maligned movie... the bear behaviour in it is actually quite accurate
The real cocaine bear overdosed and died...this is why you should always bring a lot of cocaine along when you go camping.

Today I learned this:

A bear is sometimes called a "bruin" because the word "bruin" originates from the Middle Dutch word "bruun" which simply means "brown," essentially referring to the brown color of a brown bear; this term is most commonly associated with the bear character "Bruin" in the medieval fable "Reynard the Fox" where he is depicted as a brown bear.

I've been watching NHL hockey for about 100 years and I never knew this.
So if Ehlers does not re-sign with us our "Dutch" star will either be traded to or sign with Boston in the off-season.

ok perfect..my background in my youth is boxing (incredibly amature and no real organised fights...just club matches) But I know that feeling. and being from a small club...we fought each other a lot..and being a certain weight class and level of skill...we were pretty well matched. amongst my group...... and I don't mean practice..this wasn't "sparring". We were fighting. The coach wasn't gonna stop us mid round, step in with advice and then back to the fight... .I was fighting to win and win big, I wanted to knock someone out... every time i went in the ring...just to know the feeling... I knew this was as far as I was ever going to get in "sports" so those matches were my "playoffs"....

Worse..I know that feeling of knowing your arms are noodles, and your opponent isn't gassed, and you have to go in there again and no matter what..you aren't able to stop him.

But I also know that some days I felt "I couldn't be better, more rested, more ready to go...." and then I crapped the bed.. beaten 6 ways from Sunday..nothing worked, couldn't puch, couldn't weave, couldn't counter.....

..and the other times when I was feeling frail, and couldn't focus, and went in thinking"I have to do this and I'm going to get beat hard" only to dominate and make it easy....

same me, same opponent.... different days.

Or when I coached kids soccer. we could beat a team then lose to them the very next week.... was it because they were better? was it because my kids weren't trying? was it because they were able to go to some "next level" no and No...

sometimes you make a mistake..then it compounds and suddenly you look like you don't belong in the same planet.... sometimes your opponent does that...sometimes both of you play amazing and somebody still gets beat.

It's sport underdogs hit, champions falter...it's not always effort, will or talent....
sometimes you eat the bear...sometimes he eats you.

I did some cocaine with some bears once....
they just danced, got horney, and went home together.......

Like the boxing stories.

My dad was funny but he had a buddy that was funnier and told good stories. They were both Phys ed teachers at High School’s in Saskatoon in the 60’s and 70’s. Dad’s buddy had a small fiesty shop teacher with a boxing background and decieded to form a boxing club at the high school. Since dads buddy Don was the phys Ed teacher he ran shot gun.

Once the shop teacher figured he had worked his magic he lined up a quick meet with a club in town that had lets say………er……….a more talented group of boxers. Don was recalling one match in particular where one of there more athletic kids was in over his head. He was taking a solid beating and came back to the corner after the 1st round and the shop teacher coach was trying to pump him up saying don’t worry, you look good out there……..fight is close………yada yada…………kid goes out for the 2nd round and its worse and he’s getting a solid beating but survived the round. He comes back to the corner worse for wear and the Irish shop teacher jumps back in saying don’t worry the guy isn’t laying a glove on you etc etc and the kid without missing a beat turns to Don and says hey coach, can you do me a favor and keep an eye on the ref because someone in that ring is kicking the shit out of me.

Parker Ford is the only member of the 2019-20 US World Junior team to be un-drafted. That team did not win a medal.
John Beecher of the Bruins was also on that team.

Vilardi has a goal and an assist in each of his last 2 games vs Boston.

Jets need to win tonight to keep their record of 9 wins in each month.

Bruins have the 3rd worst PP at 13.8% and 8th worst PK at 75.8%.

Bruins are first in PIM (564), PIM/GP (10:50), Penalty's taken (220), Penalty's drawn (217), 2nd in Majors (20) and 2nd in Misconduct penalty's (5).
The Jets lead the NHL in misconduct penalty's with 6. This is not game misconducts.

Charlie McAvoy is back in the lineup tonight after missing the previous 7 games with an injury. He will play in his 500th NHL game tonight.
Hampus Lindholm is still on the IR.

Brad Marchand is tied with Pavel Bure for most career Penalty Shot Goals with 7. Marchand scored his 7th earlier this season vs Seattle.

Freaking Korpisalo has played lights out against the Jets.

I've never played NHL playoffs either lol, but it seems like everything gets tougher. It's harder to get to the front of the net, and you pay the price when you do. Guys battle harder for pucks, etc

There's the famous story of the 1983 oilers after they lost to the Islanders.. they realized that they were probably the better team, but that the Isles "knew how to win"... once the Oilers figured that out, they went on to win 4 in a row (and could have been more if not for Shane Smith lol)

I just hope that the Jets had the same kind of "A-HA moment" last April.

You mean Steve Smith right?
