Die Hard for Bedard 2023
Aqua back at the draft table, hob-knobbing with NHL execs and scouting his next GM/President. The world is slowly back to "normal".
I actually original had The Lighthouse but wanted to keep the list down to three.
Also, racist. Holy hell was Lovecraft racist. Only thing scarier to him than weird angles and ancient alien demons were white women hooking up with black guys.
I too would like to know.Do we know which owners of other clubs play such a visible role at the draft? I don’t recognize the faces of other owners so couldn’t really catch any yesterday.
Dundon for sure with Carolina. Easy to pick him out in the draft photo as he wore a sweater, not a suit. Very casual look.Do we know which owners of other clubs play such a visible role at the draft? I don’t recognize the faces of other owners so couldn’t really catch any yesterday.
Oilers traded their pick to Nashville for EkholmHell we watched Darryl Katz son grow up every year on the draft stage. I missed this year did he still have the sideshow Bob hair?

Saw the Carolina draft photo, Dundon is 2 people away from Nadeau. The 2 beside him are the GM Waddell and the person who announced the pick.
Set the tone from the top and trust the people to do their jobs. Ideally, the directive actually matches the capability of the roster.Carolina and Las Vegas are two teams that have very hands-on owners that seems to work out well for them.
I guess it’s whether any of the other owners would position themself beside the draft pick vs being more off to the side and letting the GM and head scout be the 2 on either shoulder of the kid. Frankie likes to be up front for photo ops. First time we’ve seen him in 2023 I think.I think a lot of teams with singular majority owners go. Like you wouldn't see the board of MLSE trucking up on stage, but Katz, Aquilini etc yes.

Answer hard questions he’s no where to be found. Photo op, right up front. He's so vain and needs to show off that new ozempic bod.

When Lovecraft was born everyone was racist. People adopt the ethics of their surroundings. I think it is safe to say he was probably more racist than your average chum... But its not the same as being so today.I actually original had The Lighthouse but wanted to keep the list down to three.

I never remembered owners going up in the past... like I don't really remember Arthur Griffiths up there (although I guess it's possible) and certainly not John McCaw, so I do find it a bit weird that Aqua is always there. I was trying to remember back to what other teams do, so I went back to the first draft I sorta paid attention to, which was the 1990 draft at BC Place, and man things were weird.
Owen Nolan stops for an interview before he even gets to the stage:
And Martin Brodeur goes up (no owner, just one team rep) and makes a public statement at the microphone:
(The French voice-over notes that at the Pan Pacific when they heard Brodeur's name, they excitedly asked if he was related to "King Richard").
But then by 1994 you can see Peter Karmanos and his skullet accompany Jim Rutherford when he goes up to draft Jeff O'Neill for the Whalers, but that may just be because he had only just bought the team.

It was interesting seeing all of the ex Penguins brass on the podium for the Canucks..Aqua back at the draft table, hob-knobbing with NHL execs and scouting his next GM/President. The world is slowly back to "normal".

Maybe it was just me......but Bettman seemed to give the Canuck reps a bit of a 'cold shoulder' when they took to the podium, including the owner. It was interesting seeing all of the ex Penguins brass on the podium for the Canucks..

Oh weird... he would take over as head coach partway through the following season but yeah, he hadn't yet.Devils’ exec is Tom McVie who was the head coach of their farm team in Utica. Strange times.
