1. Tries to fire Vigneault, Gillis steps in.
2. Don't think he had much to do with Willie D or Green being hired.
3. Fires Green, Hires Boudreau.
4. Fires Boudreau, Hires Tocchet.

I wonder if he wanted Tocchet, and JR shared the same smooth brain.
I think you're forgetting one hot-headed Italian-American coach that he hired there between nos. 1 and 2.

From what I hear through unofficial channels, with this regime Aquillini is finally hands off.

Now, I suspect that in the interviews he may have vetted this group to see if they had similar outlooks, but my understanding is that Benning was a bit of a puppet, whereas these guys have autonomy.

How long until Frankie loses control of the team in favour of one of his (seemingly) more competent siblings? How long can this team fail miserably while blowing money (spending to the cap, paying multiple coaches, running a huge front office group, potentially buying out players, etc.) and maintain status quo on the business side of things?

There was that rumour that Frankie almost lost control a couple off seasons ago…
The answer is never. They wouldn't let him anywhere near any of the real businesses where he could do actual damage.

No GM would step into this roster and say were targeting failed entry level prospects

that is 10000000% aquilini

So it’s a “trust me bro” type of thing ?
Do you think there are sentient beings on the other end of these computers?

Some people know people. You know who works for the Canucks? People.

I don't care, I'm throwing a crumb to enrich conversation a little bit. I'm not defending Aquillini, I f***ing hate him. I'm just sharing what was shared with me by someone unimpeachable.

If you don't believe me, that's your prerogative, but no need to be toxic about it.

I hope you’re right. I really hope the owners let the staff do the work.

Frankie must be the laughing stock of the family. All the other family members seem to be running successful businesses. Imagine their family dinners lol, “so Frankie, I see the Canucks are a bottom 5 team again this year.”

If you care about this team and still attend games, you should feel compelled to relentlessly chant 'Frankie Sucks' and 'A-qui-lini sell the team' until he is removed as chairman. No matter what happens next...do it and do not stop.

Over to you Canucks nation.

0. Demands Nonis make a franchise crippling trade and then fires him for it when he refuses.

Also from the Greatest Hits:

- emails a journalist spewing invective
- crafts a nearly incomprehensible letter to Tom Brady/the Patriots that was probably written in crayon

They pretty clearly haven't had autonomy on the coaching situation, though.

I don't think having a failson denigrate the asset, value and brand of the Canucks is a laughing matter to them. I would not be shocked if things reached a breaking point and the family members who actually run the real businesses step in, as was rumoured last year.

Supposedly an NHL franchise benefits from having 'local ownership'. But I'm almost at the point where I'd welcome the return of John McCaw and the Seattle cable company as owners of the Canucks.

At least they stood back and let Brian Burke and Dave Nonis build the team that would eventually challenge for the Cup by the 2008-2011.

This current family owners of the Canucks are an embarrassment to the franchise and to the NHL as a whole.
