Good riddance to that fat ****

@Bubbles, I gave you a quote about Delorme that is contrary to your belief, and you disregard it ... so be it. This is similar to your thinking that Brackett left the team and took his best USHL people to Minnesota. When questioned on who these people were, you declined to comment.

The same way you disregarded my link to the Swedish article that said it was Hammarstrom. And I believe Gradin gave an interview during the draft that he knew about Pettersson since he was 13.

Yet that one quote from Benning seems to be enough to trump logic. So be it, you have your own beliefs.

As for Brackett, I already mentioned Palango. and Brackett himself still has a lot of contacts in the USHL. The point was that a lot of the USHL knowledge has not been replaced within the Canucks organization.

Easy to disregard it considering the "body of amateur scouting work" Ron Delorme has done for the club. Or it proves that a blind squirrel can find a nut.

I did not disregard it. I could care less about the link, or who discovered Pettersson first.

You made the claim that you cannot find any article crediting Delorme with influence on any pick and I found one for you.

Mr Aquilini's live twitter game threads used to be so much fun, I really wish he would get back to doing those again once in a while. He was trying to be a man of the people, to be accessible to the fan base with those threads and the commentary was often hilarious. It was like setting him up in one of those dunk tanks and everyone having a basket full of balls to throw.

Anyway, I really miss that. At least there was one thing going on that was kind of fun last year. Now we don't even have that.

Aquaman’s last tweet, this was done when the team won exciting games against Montreal and San Jose…that night we lost to Minnesota.

I was at Pettersson’s first training camp and talked with and gradin who was saying he knew Pettersson since he was 11 years old as his home town is 15 minutes outside of gradin’s home.

Delorme didn’t do shit

Rutherford is in his 70's. He probably wants to rebuild less than Aqualini does.
Yes I think this is right I think Francesco and JR were on the same page from the beginning. Hoping a lot of the dithering and indecision comes from the younger managers around JR having different ideas.

That would explain why our amateur scouting in Western Canada sucked ass for so long. The head scout for that region was in Sweden all the time scouting.

:sarcasm:

Canuck fans can do all the wishing, hoping and praying they want......but the reality is this franchise will never win anything as long as the Aquilini's own it. That's just the way it is.

So the choice is simple. You can continue to torture yourself with every win and loss....or simply move on and find something else or some other sport or team to follow.

This joke of a franchise really isn't worth getting too worked up over.

No kidding, for the first time since I started watching hockey 11 years ago
I’ve watched more of other teams games than the canucks

Basically this. I was the biggest Canucks fan since 82... and now couldn't give two shits about this team until the ownership group sells.

The ownership is terrible for the team and steadfastly REFUSES to allow a real rebuild.

When I said earlier that Luigi needs to get more of the blame, people really need to look into who is the real decision maker and who holds the power in the Aquilini group. Francesco is just the face... You'd be shocked to know who refused to allow the Canucks to both buy out Luongo and also who demands making the playoffs for just one round for the revenue.

It's not at all about winning the cup for these guys. It never was, it was about pure profit and being able to develop the land etc.

If you're still 'paying' to support the team, you're part of the problem as far as I'm concerned. Stop paying for tickets, stop buying merchandise.

I have a bit of a different view on this.

I've been a Bengal fan for almost 2 decades.

Do you have any idea how f***in satisfying it feels now that they are finally a respectable franchise a tier2 contender for the super bowl. Revamping their front office, practice facitilies, modernizing the management and PR.

I view it as tantra fandom.

Kind of on topic but that's why I'm getting more tired of the message Drance is putting out or a subsection of the fan base.

We can all scream till we're blue in the face to stop digging, stop doubling down, etc. Try to get Bedard, try to make moves that help the team 5 years from now as opposed to 5 months...

But it's just never going to happen. The owner will never sign off on that. So i don't have the effort or the will anymore to discuss it or hear about it. I don't have the effort or the will for a lot of canucks things lately though.

Agreed. I can't do it. I'm a proud Vancouverite. I can't cheer for another team. So my day-to-day interest will wane, but my passion won't quit. I can't bring myself to watch all the games, even most of them these days. But I'll be f***ed to cheer for a team I have no connection with.

Drance knows his audience. The vast majority of Canuck fans are now aboard Team Tank because of the recent national focus on Bedard and their recent slide. One or two victories and the fans are back on the playoff bandwagon.

Trust me, I have to deal with a lot of non-forum Canucks offline and they all share the same sentiment.

Personally, I've focused on junior hockey the past few years because there was an incredible crop of prospects from the West, and especially BC. I'd rather spend my money and time on teams that give the lifeblood to these NHL billionaires. And in junior hockey, you are forced to rebuild every few years by default. So no waiting for 8,10,12 years for a rebuild that will never come.

Kind of sucks that our sports franchises are screwed up.

Whitecaps FC try and play moneyball and develop homegrown talent but lack any will to spend $ on legit DPs.

Canucks try and spend recklessly. Refuse to put emphasis on drafting and developing.

FAQ should just sell and buy the Whitecaps.

Hughes spoke out about the organization's BS and made them look bad. Good on him.

It's the exact type of thing that Aquilini will hate. Maybe Hughes' days in Vancouver are numbered...

Incoming New Jersey blockbuster?

I'm a Life long Bears fan.... I completely understand. This season was the most excited I've been for the bears since the last time they were in the Superbowl and we finished dead last this season.
