I one hundred and a billiontyzillion percent believe Aquilini would be in his absolute glory owning the Whitecaps and would be able to play the “f*** you” rich role he can’t in a big four North America sport. You know he would revel in bringing in aging Azzurri after aging Azzurri for his paisanos on Commercial.

Our owner sucks. Its that simple. He is a slimeball. I bet all the bad rumours of him (child abuser and so on) are true. He is an idiot, who should have learned from what was it 8 or 9 years of flailing that he shouldn't try and make hockey ops decisions. While I have always that he was meddling and involved I had thought and hoped he had taken at least a bit of a step back with all the negative press he has gotten.

It didn’t help you against Boston, Toronto or Montreal either. What are you trying to establish here? All the different jerseys didn’t help when Bure was here or the Sedins. OK, they came close, but no cup. It’s only been 52 years, Mr. Aquilini.

I wonder how many people in this thread who are saying we need new ownership have bought merch or tickets for a game this year..... you're part of the problem.

When I said earlier that Luigi needs to get more of the blame, people really need to look into who is the real decision maker and who holds the power in the Aquilini group. Francesco is just the face... You'd be shocked to know who refused to allow the Canucks to both buy out Luongo and also who demands making the playoffs for just one round for the revenue.

It's not at all about winning the cup for these guys. It never was, it was about pure profit and being able to develop the land etc.

If you're still 'paying' to support the team, you're part of the problem as far as I'm concerned. Stop paying for tickets, stop buying merchandise.

I have beaten this drum.

People find safety in their hatred of Benning as if he's the leviathan. He was just a weak, incompetent man, but a mouthpiece for ownership.

We let Tanev and Toffoli go because the old man demanded austerity at all costs. Francesco (whom I hate, don't take this as a defence of him) wanted to move money around (and it was doable) to keep them. Luigi didn't give a shit. No income due to the pandemic, no outgoing. Note also that we fired a lot of off ice staff around that time too. That family is a cesspit.

I believe he is paying roughly $8-10 million in dead money this year, with coaching, buyouts, and uninsured contracts.

99% of it is recklessness on his part by simply being involved and no patience

OEL costs $20 mill out of his pocket if he pursue’s it.
 
How long until Frankie loses control of the team in favour of one of his (seemingly) more competent siblings? How long can this team fail miserably while blowing money (spending to the cap, paying multiple coaches, running a huge front office group, potentially buying out players, etc.) and maintain status quo on the business side of things?

There was that rumour that Frankie almost lost control a couple off seasons ago…

2. Don't think he had much to do with Willie D or Green being hired.
3. Fires Green, Hires Boudreau.
4. Fires Boudreau, Hires Tocchet.

I wonder if he wanted Tocchet, and JR shared the same smooth brain.
