I try to be a good Flames fan and follow the righteous path laid out by his excellence Saint Wardo, but everyday I struggle to fend off the pull and temptation of Scott Cullen. It's a struggle we all share, and we must support one another.

Didn't he sign one with Tampa last year and then bailed out right after to sign in the KHL. Anyways, hopefully it works for him. I definitely am not defending the way his career went but he was thrown in the fire a little with us.

I think Irving is one of the examples of how we misused prospects badly in the past. Having the three headed dragon in net during the lockout in Abbotsford and just sitting your top goaltending prospect in favor of Brust and Taylor is the type on mismanagement that got Feaster fired IMO.

Irving was given plenty of chances that year to prove he deserved more playing time, and it's solely on him that he couldn't.
Taylor and even Brust played much better during their chances, and earned their starts.
Remember when Abby had 3 games in a row and Taylor had to start all 3 because Irving's confidence was shot and you were trying to tell me that goalies play 3 in a row all the time?

Irving is the goalie version of Baertschi. Potential is there, but he gets knocked off his game too easily. Fragile mind.

When I saw the Gaudreau/Monahan threads on the main boards I wanted to throw up and I am also tired of hearing our defense is the best in the league, because quite frankly it's not true. We didn't even finish in the top half of GA/G last season, maybe we have the best offensive blue line in the NHL, but until we actually accomplish something people need to stop bragging.

Yup. I've stopped going to the main boards for a bit. This whole Gaudreau/Monahan being Kane/Toews is getting overblown. They'll be a comparable, but a poor mans Kane/Toews.
