Yeah I load shows and movies for traveling on my HD. How much stuff do you need for a trip??? A mirco card is another device to lose and keep track of IMO. You have everything you own in the cloud. I think when HD's on phones were smaller this was an issue.

You don't need to remove the card once it's in your phone. You just plug your phone into a PC.

SD cards are still very much in use. If you have a 16 gb phone (which a huge amount of people still do) it's basically mandatory. Especially with how much storage some apps take up nowadays, there's no room for media on most people's internal storage.

Apple explained that too many people were handling the demo phones before and during the presentation and trying to authenticate too many faces that by the time it got to Craig, they were locked out.

Headphone jack as a negative...lol. Is this 2016? The thing Apple has always done early is realize when certain tech was obsolete and position their products correctly moving forward. Why would I ever use wired headphones again, they are annoying. The adapter was always shipped with the 7 anyways. Remember when the Macs ditched disc drives..

There are always minor details but I'll never go to Samsung for the following reasons unless they change. Frankly their build quality and support is not as good.

If I ever have an issue there is a retail store I can walk in to and they will either fix or replace my phone no questions asked. I can understand not shipping with a fast charger.... but what charger is coming with the X. Wireless pad or lighting jack.

Headphone Jack - Nobody cares anymore
Micro SD card slot`- People still use these.... why????
Iris Scanner - Seems to work really well
Price - You get what you pay for.

Nobody cares about headphone jacks? The headphone jack is literally the only reason I haven't upgraded from my 6S, and likely won't upgrade for a while, despite battery problems and way too small of storage space. I don't want to have to deal with charging headphones, and I already have good quality wired headphones. Why would I buy a phone that forces me to waste money on something I don't want?

I'm not quite getting the motivation to remove the App Store from iTunes, as well as the App<>Device management tools. Apparently removing functionality is going to improve the experience somehow.

Maybe part of their attempt to push more people to apple's cloud backup?

Well, with Apple, you can use lightning jacks for the same thing. The only thing that has changed is, since the lightning jack is in use, you have to buy an adapter to charge and listen to music at the same time. Pretty minor to me....

16 GB... .what year is this? We are talking about new phones, right? Anyone that is filling up all this HD space on phones has a bunch of stuff they probably don't need on there. If Apple made changes to their phone to include and SD slot and made it thicker or whatever it would be completely stupid. I have 128 and barely use 40GB and never delete anything. Pictures and videos back to the 1st iphone are on there, 10 years or so.... shows, music...

Well it's not going to back the other way. You realize you can use the wired headphones and or adapter that come with the phone, right? Millions of people are doing it! If you want the splitter they are on Amazon for under $10.

Dealing with charging headphones? My beats last forever on a charge. I really think this is a mental block with some people, once you make the move you'll find out it wasn't a big deal. My 65 year old dad upgraded to a 7 and dealt with it just fine... he's like yeah I just use this little thing that came with it works with everything... Also makes for an easy Xmas gift for him for some beats lol.. How long does it take to plug your headphones in? We all had some bluetooth device at some point... right? Was it a huge pain to deal with that? I think once you find a good pair of wireless you wouldn't want to deal with wires ever again.

As far as your 6 if you want to stick with it, check out the cost to replace the battery but for the money I would upgrade ...

The thing is they jumped the ship with getting rid of the headphone jacks. Wireless headphones are not that close to being the dominant platform for headphones. It pissed off a lot of people, and probably has something to do with the iPhone 7 not meeting Apple sales expectations. Apple is trying to force the market to go wireless, and they're the ones taking the hit for it. When Samsung, Google, Microsoft etc. start their wireless push, the market will already be ready for them.

Oh yeah Apple really pissed a lot of people off with the headphone jack. The 7 was one of if not the top selling Smart phone in Q4 2016 and Q1 2017. Some of this you could say is due the Note and fires. You guys continue to overreact. In fact it did better than the 6S which has a headphone jack..lol

"Headphone jack? 16GB of storage? What year is this, 2016? Doesn't everybody have a 128 GB iPhone 7 by now?"

Try and see things from someone else's perspective for like half a second. Everybody doesn't have an iPhone 7 let alone a 128 GB iPhone 7.

EverythingApplePro made a video and revealed that a brand new iPhone 8 and 8+ doesn't have a difference in battery compared to a brand new iPhone 7 and 7+. Obviously if you have a 7 or 7+ and buy a brand new 8, you'll see a difference because of the normal aging process in the battery, but fresh out of the box brand new there isn't a difference. They're also smaller batteries, so some optimization in there to make them last just as long as last year's:

iPhone 7: 1960 mAh
iPhone 8: 1821 mAh
iPhone 7+: 2900 mAh
iPhone 8+: 2675 mAh

No actual figures for the iPhone X, but in comparison to the 8+ and 8:

iPhone 8|1,821 mAh. 14 hours of talk time, 12 hours of internet use, 13 hours of video playback, and up to 40 hours of audio playback. Fast charging offers up to 50 percent charge in 30 minutes.. Wireless charging (Qi standard)
iPhone 8 Plus|2,675 mAh. 21 hours of talk time, 13 hours of internet, 14 hours of video playback, and up to 60 hours of audio playback. Fast charging offers up to 50 percent charge in 30 minutes. Wireless charging (Qi standard)
iPhone X|21 hours of talk time, 12 hours of internet, 13 hours of video playback, and up to 60 hours of audio playback. Fast charging offers up to 50 percent charge in 30 minutes. Wireless charging (Qi standard)

X has more talk time than the regular sized 8 and 20 hours more of audio playback, but the same amount of internet use and video playback and an hour less in those categories than the larger Plus model.

Of course these are just their descriptions of the battery life and it can only really be gauged by real world use depending on the person, but there's an idea of it.

This a discussion about the iPhone X and you are bringing a negative up that it doesn't have a SD card slot. It's an outdated comparison! My perspective is instead of discussing with people actually interested in the product, the people who come here to dump on them because they think they play for the other team.

The iPhone is has been at the top of the charts for awhile. The biggest sign that the iPhone failed to meet expectations was Apple cutting production in January Samsung's "struggle" this year have entirely to do with the exploding batteries. People associated the fires the entire brand, which has hurt their sales for other phones since.

The iPhone 7 set records for Apple. It more than met expectations.

It really didn't. Apple cut production for what I think was the first time ever since they started making the iPhone. Early sales were as strong as ever, but they haven't kept up since. Setting records for pre-order and first month sales don't mean much for expectations, Apple always know they're going to be strong. When Apple came out and said they won't talk about pre-order sales anymore because they aren't relevant, it wasn't because they were low and Apple thought it didn't matter. It's because they are extremely high and Apple doesn't think it matters.

There were reports of iPhone 7 sales soaring as the iPhone 8 loomed back in July and for that quarter. It accounted for 81% of cell phone sales in the USA for a 3-month period ending July 1.

I have been saying the 8 is a good deal. Just being overlooked because it's in the same case.

It is. If I were upgrading this year I'd be getting the 8 or 8+. A11 chip, upgraded camera, TouchID.

My regular 6s will hold me over for a while, though, plus it's 128 GB. I'll just have to get used to carrying around my charger or invest in the battery case from Apple. But I can probably hold on to it for another 2-3 years unless the iPhone X2 (next year) gets TouchID under the screen and gets rid of that ugly lip at the top where all the sensors are earpiece is.

Dude, it was till a best seller in Q2 and entering Q3. There are many reasons for this.

One that was highlighted is the two contracts went away in the U.S. and people were able to upgrade on a more regular basis.

Samsung's issues definitely had an impact. I didn't think the 7 was a huge update after the 6S, I was actually surprised at the success. Stating the 7 failed or didn't sell because of the headphone jack is simply not true. Were there some people that waited because... sure, there always will be. Thing is it's not going to change and your only option is to go with it, change brands until it happens there.

The fact there was an adapter included, it boggles my mind that it even gets brought up as a negative.
