Apple's been granted a patent for putting TouchID in the power button.

The iPhone 8 in all its glory. Not gonna lie, this is far better than a curved infinity display imo.
I hate that little cutout for the camera and phone calls. Ugh.
At least I wasn't planning on getting that model this year anyways. Hopefully they can work out a way to embed everything in the screen eventually.
That's not what it is.
Yes it is. The screen is supposed to be AMOLED, which allows for perfect blacks.
How else you expect the screen to be used?
I'm talking about the cutout as seen in these pictures, which are the first leaks of the production parts: https://www.macrumors.com/2017/06/12/first-alleged-iphone-8-part-leaks/
It'll just look ugly unless a system wide dark mode is in there which there isn't.
Yes... the photo I posted is of the same screen, with the cutout.
Honestly they could have put touch ID on the back, sell cases with the cutout. Those pics on the link above if real are pretty good.
they cant do that. they just cant. its a bad design.
if they can pull something like what mikeymike posted its good - i hope thats the final design.
Any one here buy AirPods?
Are they worth it?
Yes. The sound quality is very good - not high end but far better than any budget buds. But the hook is the ease of automatic Bluetooth pairing, the battery case, the portability. Bringing along earbuds used to be a pain, now these just go in the right front coin pocket and go everywhere with me.
I haven't tried them with Android, but they work perfect with iPad, iPhone, Apple Watch. Real synergy.
Now that components and accessories (cases) are being made, more and more renderings (mainly based on case leaks) are being released. Almost all look similar.
I'll be holding onto my 6S a little longer then until they figure out how to embed it in the screen. No Touch ID would legit be a deal breaker for me at this point.
I will believe them ditching Touch ID when I see it.
Not sure how they deal with corporations if they move away from it.
I have to think that this is an attempt at throwing out fake rumors by them. They have done it a few times, now.
