And they're also ahead of EVERY other rebuilding team right now in P%. Ahead in the standings with fewer games played even. 10 spots ahead of CHI who keeps getting nentioned in comparison. 6 ahead of forever rebuild Buffalo.

Not sure how anyone can say our rebuild is behind. Ups and downs. That's how it goes.

No, it translates to 83 points, a solid 15 points out of a for sure playoff spot, no that isn't a success.
Splitting hairs a bit, but doesnt it project to 85pts? Edit: 84.952 actually. I guess 84 is the number. Don't think it makes sense to round up in this case. 164 possible points, .518 P%

Edit:

The question was "if the season ended today." Today we're 4 points out of a playoff spot. Not 15.

Playoffs or bust.. should be in the locker room wall!

Not we want to be playing meaningful games. What the f*** does that even mean. BA next move will be at the end of each game everyone gets a participation sticker.

I have been enjoying how we been playing and how the team is coming together. I want Keller to be in his prime when we are making our playoff runs. Just really want use to trade for a top 4 Dman. BA to have some faith with the team we have now not what's down the road!!

BA should say our Core is Keller, Smaltzy, Cooley, Gunner and Serg. We are going to make this team a winner. And each year we will be able to add 1 or 2 guys to keep us competitive and strong. I will do everything I can to make "this" team a champion.

Who/what do we trade now for a top 4 D and who is available to acquire? I don't disagree that we need to make a big moves on D still. I'm just not so sure when I think it should be done.

Edit: I just dont want to spend big on short term. I want a long term fit top 4 Dman brought in if m giving up future assets. He needs to still be here and productive 2 seasons from now for what I want.

We have long term top 4 D and don't need to trade for more.

Sergachev - Marino
Simashev - Durzi

Kesselring and Lamoureux will be considered for Marino's replacement when that time comes.

It's easy to forget that 3 of those 4 players have not been able to help the team this season.

It's just an excuse to some fans but the impact it has doesn't care. If it didn't matter I don't think we'd be talking about bringing in help on D. Especially in the top 4.

Edit: So pleased with the Sergachev trade. Imagine not having him.

Fowler for a 2nd and maybe a 3rd. Help out this year greatly and when our guys are ready we say bye bye. That's just the first off the top of my head.

No, you missed the point. Four points from a wild card.

Have a couple of kids in Tucson who the organization I think are pretty high on.

Yeah, without Sergachev...yikes, don't even want to think about it.

We've been climbing up the standings over the last several games and some are talking like we're still in a freefall lol. 21st in the league right now, like @Jakey53 said. 4 points out. All of a sudden they're kind of close to what we all expected this season aren't they!?

They just made one of the best teams in the NHL work hard for a win and got a point out of it themselves.

Edit: There's still a season to finish, but right now UHC is on an 84/85pt pace.
Beware of the ides of February

Here was your original question.

And??

Did Ottawa have revolving ownership groups the past 28 years? Coyotes had no less than 6.

Did Ottawa own and have full control of its own arena? Yes. Coyotes did not.

Did Ottawa face continuous talk about being relocated at the end of a season?? No. Coyotes faced it multiple times...... even when they were a playoff team.

I'm quite aware of what Ottawa has been through..... but it doesn't even remotely come close to what the Coyotes faced.

Ottawa had 4 Ownership groups if you don't count the kids. They were sold out of bankruptcy. There was talk of relocation a few times, notably I think 2018 and 2022 off the to of my head. They own the arena but it's a "bad location" similar to the Coyotes. Management and Ownership fiascos fairly common. They are a reasonable comparison, not exactly the same but not another planet.

From tge 17/18 season:

If 97 points gets the last seed and we are at 93 points, that is a 15 point improvement, I would call that a successful season. 84-86 points is still likely 13 points out of a playoff spot, that is not successful. 80 or less is a major miss, 75 or less in year 5 of BA, and you have to question the coach and or GM. We have to benchmark success to points and playoffs at some point, success can't always be measured every year because we feel warm and fuzzy because we have young forwards that can get points. That was the Oilers for years, and we don't have 2 of the top 5 forwards in the game "cooking". We are kind of built like the Oilers were for years, wingers first, D last.

Let's wait until the season ends shall we. We can speculate and do the math every other game, but the end result is all that matters. Last year I thought we would be a bubble team, so maybe Utah is one year behind? But the easy part is over and really so are the built in excuses. I will judge BA and Bear at years end. Talk is cheap, winning is all that matters.

Why is it that every year, or at least it feels like every year we are around the bottom of the league in shots? Right now we sit at 26th for shots / gm. Last year we ended up 27th. You can't score if you don't shoot.
