I finished the USA game a bit ago, and my main Gauthier impression was he was a lot better, after about the first 10 minutes. I don't know if he actually scored his 2nd goal, but he was a lot calmer with his decisions and passing. He was actually going for entries and dangles. Not as many Neptune shots. If you watched that over the Canada game, you'd have a more positive impression.

Now, my other side takeaway is it was a gong show defensive game with open ice galore. At least 4 HockeyGuys™ had heart attacks watching. Being good with lots of time and space is fine, but being overwhelmed by pace and tight checking is not ideal. An NHL game will resemble the Team Canada game.
Where's the Ostlund report though

Samu has 11 goals in 12 Mestis games. And 1 more goal and 3 more points at the u18s, in case you're wondering how the Flyers handle their evaluating.
Sadly, I could not even remember the kids name. Just know his last name starts with a T. Glad to see he's tearing up that league butvI will defer to Appleyard....then once he responds...I will choose to ignore his insight and instead choose to wait and see where he is in 2 years.

Maybe by then I will know his name.

@BigToe -- do you think Sandin Pellikka is more on the Cam York end of the spectrum, bit more shooting happy, than the Zellweger end? He's only 17 at the WJC, although he did get great usage. He was consistently solid looking beyond the scoring numbers, and it's possible he has more latent ability. But my read was he's more an intelligent, well-rounded puck mover that will occasionally pop than a dynamic weapon. Good 4-way skater, but again, maybe not quite high end.

I’ll wait until the end of the year for a final decision but I lean more towards a York type atm. I love the patience he already has at his age especially in a tournament like this. Gulyayev is the only Dman in this draft close to the Zellweger end imo.

You better have some color coded charts, or there will be hell to pay.
