I don’t think USA was bad tonight even beyond having two goals come off the board they just didn’t really get a bounce or two to go their way. Canada’s goalie was pretty good too.

Canadians crying about a missed call after the US had two goals stolen by the refs and they scored 5 that should have all been disallowed?

This Starman makes Jack Edwards look like a neutral, knowledgeable commentator. Maybe the worst I have ever seen.
Wild how the guy is wrong about everything.

That's how I know the two reviews were good calls.

Nah 1st one was an all-time bad call.
The rule seems clear that if you bump the goalie in the crease, that it's interference. That goal only counts in the NHL because the rulebook is more of a suggestion, just like most rules and officiating. The IIHF doesn't f*** around, they are very stringent and leave almost no room to interpret.

So far from some of these prospects here is what ive seen, good and bad, and no not just in this game, im being fair and unbiased

Bedard- elite level talent possibly generational, exceptional offensive instincts, and top tier creativity, great wrist shot, good passer, good speed, he's a good pp qb, but is much better suited along the left wall or the slot where he can better utilize his shot, always seems to find his way to the puck and great at finding holes and soft spots in the defense.
Now some negatives, he needs to learn when it's an appropriate time to deke and when to pass it off, I also see him starting off as a winger until he fills out/matures a bit as he's not good on the draws at this point, also he's an average defender, not bad, but not good either, I know it's not his game, but he's shown tendencies to shy away from contact and board play.

Fantilli- great talent, certainly has the tools to be an elite player, has a really good shot, a good one timer, and, very creative, also doesn't shy away from contact or board play.
Negatives- He's been a little inconsistent, has many flashes, but also has long periods of being invisible, likely needs 1 more year before making an impact on the nhl, but he's not far off by any means, just think he could use the extra year. Very smart you can see it in his game but he is very streaky

Cutter Gauthier- has elite speed, an elite shot, and a wicked one timer, he has good size and has been able to be a good net front presence (not in this game, just in general) He also seems to have a nose for the net and likes to crash the net, he has a shoot first mentality which can be good and bad, he also is a sneaky passer, meaning his passing is much improved compared to last season and it's not at all talked about, He likely makes the flyers full time out of Camp next season, and I also see him as top 6 lw with the potential to be an elite lw (low elite/ High top 6) He's also very physical, and doesn't shy away from contact.
Negatives, He's very lackadaisical when the puck isn't on his stick, (alot like schenn when he was here) He has sub par defensive instincts, leaves alot to be desired, he doesn't see the defensive side of the game very well at all, so will need a good defensive minded center to help cover for his flaws as they will be exposed in the nhl, he's also just not good at center, it doesn't seem to come naturally to him, he's not good on the draws and again isn't good enough defensively to take on that kind of responsibility imo, he needs to be more aggressive and assertive with and without the puck, he has the tools to succeed, but I do question his hockey i.q

If yall think this is a good write up, I'll do more, because I have notes on every player in this tournament, as well as in other countries and junior leagues!

Nice. Please do more write-ups! How about one for Leo Carlsson?

Meanwhile Jiricek looks like the best player of that draft so far. 2017 all over again.

I wouldn't go that far. Cooley was still the best imo, and Jiricek's offense still gives me more question marks projecting than his stats show. He's got a lot of stationary turret to his game. Still could be a top pair #2 with a dynamic guy. But it was always a pretty open top tier. Even Slafkovsky gave me pause. Had all the makings of a hindsight class.

It's just a matter of expectation. If you want to say that Gauthier's realistic ceiling is a good complimentary 2nd line guy (wing?) who is more an offensive floater who comes alive some shifts, it's neither a bad outcome nor unrealistic. If you want to say he has star potential, was a home run pick, is a future 1C, has elite skills, is a power forward......I think you're just setting yourself up for disappointment. With how dismal this pool is and probably will remain, I don't know if I can even blame people for huffing hopium. Lord knows the team did.

Horseshit. He was pushed by Zellwegger into that spot then barely touched him. Awful.

People look like they agree, but am I right that Cutter has not been visually impressive? Like he has the talent and skill, but he was a 5OV pick, he should be one of the top handful of players in the tournament. He doesn't look like someone I need to sign when his college season ends.

The funny part about the Flyers likely preferring Cooley is forget the cute skill........he is so urgent and hair on fire with his play. Never wants to be invisible, ton of energy and grit. A lot more physicality and intensity than the 6'2 power forward guy. Acquisitions based on archetypes (and Fletcher is beyond guilty of this) is for the birds.

Was he pushed into the crease, or pushed into the goalie? That's two different things. He's engaging the puck prior to bumping into the goalie. That's another.
