I really don't know what the love affair with Lafferty is. He's not gonna last in that kind of role.

He's better than what he showed with us, but not a fan of the lines either.

4th line is terrible, and let Holmberg/Robertson earn a spot.

I also don't want Bertuzzi with Matthews/Marner, spread the offense out more.

To add to this, I think they are starting with 11F, so not sure about lines.

He danced the question about "will Murray be able to play later this season", saying it will be measured in months not weeks, but I think we all know the real answer.

Murray deemed fit to play right when playoffs start and leads Leafs to the cup win

;)

This is going to be a big step. It makes perfect sense to have him PK, especially in situations that require some push back. I hope Matthews' conditioning is at his best.

His conditioning last season was as trash to begin the season; huffing and puffing after shifts; and didn’t really improve much during the season

holy shit!

Domi, Bertuzzi and Timmins

Bertuzi still growing taller?

Looks like people will need to put to rest the cheating theory now

goaltender Matt Murray will have "major surgery" in the next week, general manager Brad Treliving said Wednesday at the start of training camp.

Treliving added that the surgery will require significant rehab but said a timeline for his return to the NHL won't be provided right away.

"We're not necessarily focused on time frames right now," Treliving said. "This is months not days or weeks

T.O.
"can put the puck in the net" seems very loosely used here. 12 goal career high... and that was last season. He's a good skater and with tools but there's no way he should be getting those minutes to me. He struggled with the Leafs last season.
Agreed, but knowing Keefe, the line combinations will change constantly throughout the season.

When the dust settles, Lafferty should not be a top 6 forward on our current roster.

• Easton Cowan 5'11 185 • Topi Niemela 6'0 179

OMG, can we take them out of the smurf category now?
Easton must look like a fire hydrant and I'm sure he will add muscle.
Niemela is pretty lanky still, needs to beef up, but this could fix a lot of the being pushed around issues.

Simon Benoit is day to day with back spasms, which is why Dillingham is skating.

I refuse to believe that you can label one guy a 'fire hydrant' and the other as 'lanky' despite them being almost the same height and 6 lbs difference.

5'11 185 and 6'0 180 would look and behave almost identically.

1 inch in height is around 5 pounds in weight on average for a male at around 5ft 10 inches.
Basically, Cowan has a build about 10 pounds heavier than Topi.
But they can both add weight.
As well, I was thinking of my build, 5ft 11 inches at 170 and fit. Fifteen pounds of muscle on me would be crazy.
