The entire league should just stop dealing with Edmonton. They have an embarrassment of riches. Let them deal with their cap until you can pinch them in a Hockey deal.
We did deal Hall and Eberle for a lot lower of a trade value than we should've. Then once Strome was finding a role we moved him for Spooner. The entire league should just stop dealing with Edmonton. This is a reasonable take. Barrie signed to a low cap hit deal for what he can bring to the powerplay. I suspect a number of teams would have interest in him in the offseason. Bouchard can move up to take over for him if the start to the year is any indication of what he can bring. I don't think we'd need to put the 2nd onto Kassian to move him either, just offer him up for a pick. His cap hit isn't as bad with the inflation we are seeing on contracts every free agency period. Someone will want him.If it comes to it oilers will deal barrie for a 2nd and then use that 2nd to dump kassians contract. That will open up 7.5m in cap space, not to mention kosko coming off the books and hopefully replaced by skinner for another 3.5M in savings.
