Why is this new forum style seem so much brighter than before?
Turn on dark mode. It's awesome. (find it in your profile settings, change it to HF Dark)

It's gonna take a while before I get used to the new UI, but at least the dark theme looks ok.

I hate how the likes are basically just a new line of a post, there should be a separator just like there is with the post and actions (Report, Like etc).

Also the difference between normal thread title and bolded thread title (=new posts) is too small in the dark theme

I think I'm gonna sell my car. I really don't need it that much since I'm working from home and the public transport is good here. Some extra cash to the savings + the monthly savings in gas, insurance, parking spot and most importantly the finance still left should be nice amount as well
btw, I was gonna buy a bottle of 16yo Lagavulin few weeks ago but the price was over 90€. Few years ago it was something like 60€, expensive but still reasonable.

So I tried to solve this problem with expensive Lagavulin by selling my car. I sure could afford to buy a bottle now, but there's only 44 bottles in the entire country available through state alcohol monopoly, closest store is way too far away (would need a car to get there) and for some reason you can't even ask for them to transport a bottle from one store to another in this case (usually they do this for free as they have trucks going on between stores every day, I have used that before).

This is a great example of "f*** around and find out"

Can you order for delivery by mail?

Damn, that sucks to hear Kahvi.

Can you try something else other than Lagavulin to tide you over? (Laphroaig, Ardbeg etc.)

Ooo, which one?

The basic 10yo. It still had the Friends of Laphroaig promo slip inside the case even though I think they stopped doing that few years ago. 54€ for the bottle in case anyone is interested comparing prices.

In theory I could buy one of these as well if I really wanted Lagavulin but yeah, easy no Lagavulin 26 Year Old Special Release Single Malt
You could get that in 9-15 business days but no chance getting the 16yo version at the moment, even though some stores have it in shelf :skeptic:

Ah, that one isn't bad. For Laphroaig in that range, I'm more partial to the quarter cask. Slightly higher up, the Cardaieas (sp?) is nice. :)

For something Islay without sherry or the iodine of the Lagavulin or metal/pepper of Talisker... I think Ardbeg Coryvrakken or Kilchoman Machir Bay/Loch Gorm might be good ones to take a look at that others might overlook.

NHL should watch some Six Nations Rugby games to learn how video reviews should be done. You can hear the full discussion between the referee in the field and the one watching the replays, so you know the reasoning for each play that is reviewed.

Anyone else having trouble with bolded thread names after the update on mobile?

I used to check this board everyday, and just read the threads that had new replies on them, but now I can't even tell have I read the thread cause none of the headers are bolded anymore.

For example, I have read the Dustin Wolf and Armchair GM threads, but have not touched the GDT against Vegas. Yet, neither of the headers are bolded.

Its a small thing, but its driving me insane and I haven't really used hfboards because of it.

Yeah same thing here, I complained about it after the upgrade. I guess you just have to get used to it.

No sorry, switch to one of those light themes and you can easily see bolded thread titles

Light mode didn't fix it, at least not yet. I'll leave the light mode on and check tomorrow.

I was actually really excited for the dark mode, lets just hope they will fix it someday.

Can anyone who went to the Chris Stapleton show let me know what time it was that he actually came out to play? I am attending on Saturday in Vancouver, and I am trying to go without some people I know finding out. And they’ll be there. So I figure they’ll probably go for the opener and I’ll avoid the mishap of us happening to be on the same Skytrain by showing up just for Stapleton. I kinda feel like Larry David. Without all the money.

Fun story, I did the "stick in bike wheel meme" in real life.

Riding on a path, figured I'd miss this stick laying beside it. Well small tree branch. Didn't see the bit sticking up. Proceeded to snag it, and flip it into my chain and tangled everything. Broken derailleur and hanger, and the chain is nicely jammed up so it's probably borked too.

Thankfully only 5 blocks from home. Didn't crash at least, just came to a stop. Still had to do the walk of shame though haha.

I saw Wardruna live at a medieval castle couple of weeks ago. Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds at at festival in couple of hours. Just because of these it's been a great summer.

Everyone has said it's been the craziest festival summer in ages just because there hasn't been any for two years
