Also, I think we can be more aggressive moving prospects for the right player this year given we'll potentially have 5 draft picks in the top 100.

The lefty thing is so wildly overblown - it only matters in so much as it affects the Jays ability to hit righties.

Turns out they were really, really good at hitting righties last year. I'm sure as shit taking a great righty over a good lefty.

Ketel Marte would be a coup.

The Braves also turned their ramshackle bullpen into a strength.

Will Smith, Tyler Matzek, Luke Jackson, AJ Minter, Collin Mchugh, Kenley Jansen, and [in July] Kirby Yates

Atlanta might have had a better offseason than the Jays. Ridiculous how that team is projected to be far better than an honest to god world series winner

Edit: apparently when approached by AA to give up the closer role, Will Smith was like "sure lol I just want another ring"

Honestly, everyone makes the Yankees out to be the villains of the league. Personally? I think the Yankees are quite thoughtful after this. I mean... they did take $50M worth of slightly used Josh Donaldson off the hands of the Twins, who then turned around and helped used those savings to get Carlos Correa, who himself would have fit the Yankees perfectly.

Truly love to see such thoughtfulness between teams.

That's a...weirdly friendly deal for the Twins.

Probably will still go after one of Oakland's pitchers too..they're definitely competing

What a weird time this is..

Yea the Yankees are going to catch heat for this.

Oh interesting - people are mentioning that Boras did this because Correa switched agents this offseason and his old agent would have received a large cut of the contract. So he'll opt out in a year and Boras will get the whole enchilada.

Correa had a higher WAR then Donaldson and Kiner-Falefa combined and I would expect the same could possibly be true next year. Whatever they get from Urshella+Sanchez is a pure bonus and I wouldn't be surprised if they bounce back. I really like this for the Twins, they get younger and better and get out of the Donaldson contract. The Yankees botched this they could have just kept Urshella and see if he bounces back, signed Correa (I'm speculating but he probably chooses NY over Minny) and move Sanchez to the N.L for a valued reliever. No idea what they were thinking on this one unless they are really that cash strapped.
