Will he turn it over to FuTuRe DaLlAs StArS cApTaIn Ty DeLlAnDrEa???
Oh boy haha.

Wyatt seems like the best choice if we’re going to have that discussion. I really hope it’s not going to be Delly.

he had a great season and seems to have a great future, but he's got a ways to go before being anointed captain and having the respect of a locker room full of vets.

To save y’all a click, it’s

Yamamoto- EDM (Sure)
Reilly- BOS (Absolutely if he was right handed)
Granlund- PIT (lol, lmao)
Mantha- WSH (maybe? Idk)
Suter- DAL (y’all know my thoughts)

Idk i think they're play him at least another year sadly . His minutes need to drastically go down though

I'll never understand why fans care so much about who has a C on their jersey.
Leadership is important to success. You want the best leader with the C. That being said I have always hated when a player gets it taken away and still plays for that team. That is a massive failure by management.

Leaders can make or break a team or company. That’s like stripping a CEO of their title but letting them still work there. That CEO or captain had loyalty from people. It’s a massive challenge for the new person to overcome that if the person is still there. That is not setting an organization up for success.

That being said Benn probably will not waive. He knows he is close to a cup in Dallas. I don’t see them giving the C to anyone else at this point.

Nobody is disputing that.
Fans caring about which player has it, or shouldn't have it, is stupid.

if a fan can care about who the 4th line LW is, or what the contract AAV of suter's contract is, why shouldn't they care about who's captain?
2 of those directly impact and limit the performance of the team, the other is unquantifiable for a fan

What would a Domi contract look like? I did like him. He needs better line mates. He is the playmaker Dallas needed but was given poor linemates.

It's because NHL GMs are very bad at doing much to change their rosters. This isn't the NBA where it feels like 60% of the league is traded every season or the NFL where 25% of the roster turns over every off season.

Fans look at the next season and realize it's very likely going to be with essentially the same roster, so they hope one way of sparking a change is to sew a letter on a different jersey. This is a change that doesn't cost cap space or require their GM to fret for months about losing a 4th round pick in a trade.

4-5m x4 would be a likely projection.
with a variance of maybe 250k.

I'm more worried about who would be playing with him tbh.
They could take Pavelski off the top line, he's not vital to it's success and just work out with pairs
Robertson-Hintz-X
x-Domi-Pavelski
Benn-Johnston-x
x-Faksa-Seguin

man Seguin on the 4th line is not pretty. Not to mention Marchment’s contract is looking pretty bad as well.

Look at this. Then go look at the 2018 draft. WhatsApp brass is not concerned.

Well there's a few ways to look at it.
1 is that you have a consistent 20goal scorer on the "4th line", which is a good problem to have.
2 is that Seguin is so bad he had to be relegated to the 4th line (which isn't really true)
3 is that DeBoer likes to roll lines and lines 2-4 will get about the same amount of playing time anyway, so the numbering is arbitrary after the Robertson line.

The biggest thing is keeping Marchment, Seguin and Benn on separate lines from each other.
You can't have Bambi, broken Seguin and Captain Lazy together

I think if you take Pavs off the top line, you give Seguin a long look there. That's the best way to get value out of his contract. He was doing a decent Pavelski impression in the playoffs and he might look even better given more time there.

Pavelski and Domi seem like the could work very well together. Pavs can be the defensive conscience of the line... Marchment can handle all the falling down.

Keep Benn with WJ and give him another young fella to play with. I know there is a lot of Benn hate right now but his production may continue if he has the right line mates. Wyatt could be primed for a monster season and definitively be our 3rd best forward.

There are just some thoughts...
