Schultz would probably be brought back as a Manchester vet that can fill in if there are injuries on the blue line, just like this year. Considering how long this season was for the Kings injuries could be a factor next season so I'm all for getting some extra vets.

Schultz will probably take a look around first and see if any club offers him a spot as a regular first.

I would love if the Kings re-signed Jeff Schultz as a depth move. I think he would be a viable option in our system as a #8.

No money for that...

Schultz is okay, but we will have ample time to add another defenseman during the season if the need arises.

Actually, if we sign him to a deal less than $925k (I believe- some CBA expert can help out on the exact number) and send him down to Manchester, (he would need to clear waivers), then his Cap hit wouldn't count against the Kings Cap unless he was recalled.

Effectively, we paid Schultz on a one way contract last year as insurance without incurring Salary against the cap, and that move was worth its weight in gold against ANA in the playoffs.

Looks like what many of us were suggesting and assuming came to fruition. Seeing how he filled in admirably in spot duty for the Kings when hampered with injuries, it made sense for them to bring him back. It's a good depth move and gives the team an experienced player to call up as their #8 dman in the depth charts.

Hopefully in a year or so they'll just look to a guy like Forbort or Gravel or whoever else to step in and move up the ranks. What's important for the younger guys now is playing time.

And before everyone starts *****ing...
