I have a trade idea that will help improve the team, seeing that the veterans have a nasty habit of blocking the prospects.

Olofsson for Klefbom and a 7th.

What is the reason Chad D gave for Buffalo wanting to get rid of Olofsson?

Who knows? Dude says Krebs is better than Mitts is at every facet of the game.

Despite us seeing with our own damn eyes that Mitts PKed, defended leads with the goalie pulled, gave the puck away less, played on the PP equally, AND looked dangerous more

We need another 7th to win at this f***ing casino.

Not that desperate. A buyout isn't ideal, but its not bad. I'm sure Mrazek on 50% retention gets some return, even if its a 7th or future considerations. They could even package him in as part of a deal with Sandin

As I said in the proposal; Anything involving Mrazek starts with a 1st included. Not sure, I am interested in players they have already in their system. I'd prefer to get the picks and draft out of this class or next years.

I just floated Mrazek (no retention) and the 25th overall pick for Anders Bjork (50%) retention on the trade board, and wasn't blown over by the wave of Leafs fans saying value was off. And the one response back I got was cordial. So I'll take that as a decent proposal.

I make that deal all day, assign Mrazek to Rochester or buy him out.

Feel free to flame away and tell me I’m a goddamned idiot, but how do we feel about this series of moves?

To SJ: Fla 1st
To Buf: Reimer, Dahlen, Kashnikov (F/D prospect who played for the Remparts but can play in Rochester next year)

To VGK: Bjork
To Buf: Dadonov

To Col: Dadonov (50% retained), B prospect
To Buf: Erik, Compher, Sturm (rights)

Leaving with a roster (before FA):

Skinner - Tage - Tuch
Asplund - Mitts - Victor
Quinn - Compher - Cozens
JJP - Girgs - Kyle
Dahlen - Sturm - R2

Dahlin - Kjell 2.0
Power - Joker
Bryson - Erik
XX

Reimer
6K

Based on my real strong like of the 10-20 range of prospects compared to the remainder of the 1st round and top of the 2nd round, I'd do this:

Bjork (50%) retention to Toronto for Mrazek and pick 25.

Select BPA at 9.
Select BPA at 16.

Trade 28 and 41 to get into the 15-17 pick range and take BPA.

Trade 25 and 73 to get into the pick 20 range and take BPA.

Sending Bjork to Toronto on its own would be glorious.

So you give away Olofsson to get a LTIRetired contract and a 7th? Ummm...no.

(Klefbom has said he isn't playing again, his shoulders are so damaged and arthritic that he has a hard time picking up his children and he's not willing to be an invalid at 40 for the money of attempting to play pro hockey any longer. I give him credit, he's choosing quality of life over pure money which is something I think should be applauded).

It's funny but I think Bjork would be a great addition to the Amerks. It might even motivate him enough to get his career back on track after his current deal expires. Everything around him as a vibes guy has been glowing, right down to him selling Hino on coming to Buffalo as a great place to play hockey.

I'm not opposed to moving Olofsson (or really anyone off the roster aside from Dahlin, Power, etc). But it'd have to be a good deal and it wouldn't be a priority. It'd be something that someone would need to call me about.

Of all the spending ideas from hundreds of posters over the years, it was the $800K retention on Bjork that did you in finally, huh?
Yeah, I guess I should have pointed out that you are taking on Mrazek's crazy money - $4.2M next season and $4.4M the season after.

With that said, it will be $300K cheaper to buy Bjork out than to retain 50%.

Yeah, if there is a hockey deal to be made, sure. A fiscal deal or something for futures? Not so much right now.

Im really hoping that somehow we get Forsberg. Throw him Panarin like money. If cant resign some of our support guys then so be it. Just as long as we sign Dahlin and Power in 2 years.

I think the Bishop trade shows that they don't have any plans to land a big money UFA, especially at forward.

They want to take another year to really see what they have on the roster at forward and how Quinn and Peterka look in the NHL.

Again, why are we dumping Olofsson?

Think about how much cash you are saving. :thumbu:

I don't know. Why has EF and now Chad D commented on VO being on the trade market? Is it a hockey decision or a money decision?

EF mentioned the Sabres were concerned about his possible arbitration award

Because it generates clicks?

EF said the Rangers had asked and were turned down too, prior to turning to Vatrano.
