Well, successful knuckleballers typically pitch into their 40s so 41-42 doesn't seem to be a real stretch.

Him being a late bloomer (career wise), and the AL not being familiar with him, who knows when he'll overstay his welcome.

(FWIW wakefield pitched till he was 44, phil nierko 48, joe nierko 43, candiotti 41...)

It all comes from TDA truth be told. I'm ok with giving up Syndergaard and if we added a guy like Gose to the deal, I'm good. But giving up TDA makes me extremely nervous. I'm a big TDA fan. I love his potential.

This is gonna be AA's Kessel trade.

And for the last time, yes, I know the Jays actually have a chance to compete (so we hope) while the Leafs didn't (in hindsight). But in terms of trading assets that can turn into young controllable star players, this is pretty much the equivalent.

The solace I take in this is the fact that this kind of information has never leaked under AA's regime before without being confirmed soon after. It's been far too long since the information broke without it being confirmed. This gives me hope.
