I guess Ike Davis can project to be a .800 OPS left handed 1B with lots of controllability.

Ike Davis sucks.

Davis absolutely raked from June 9th onwards (265/.347/.565. In 383 PA), and has shown flashes of being an above average 1B in previous seasons. He isn't my first choice, but I would at least be comfortable with trading D'Arnaud if he were included in the transaction, his power likely plays up at the Rogers center as well.

Oh man, imagine if we got the NL Cy Young winner from last year? It does not happen often where a Cy Young winner from the previous season gets dealt. That will send even more shock waves across the MLB than the blockbuster with the Marlins.

Niese doesn't make sense, unless the Jays plan on re-flipping him or someone else in the rotation.

Wouldn't be surprised if the Jays moved Buehrle either in the trade or another one right after if it happened, and then used the extra money money (about 5.5M) to try to upgrade at 1B this year.

If we are trading d'Arnaud for Dickey, AA is making a huge mistake.

Top 10 prospects provide so much surplus value because of the low salary they are played, if d'Arnaud does go to the Mets we will be regretting it.

We should just stay away from deals with d'Arnaud involved unless we are getting a young and controllable asset similar to him.

I would not be opposed to that at all.

Excellent post.

Nailed it.

I will be so heavily disappointed if D'arnaud goes. I haven't been this excited about a jays prospect in a long time, and hes a catcher to boot.

Want to repeat 1 thing reported earlier, because important here. 2 people involved in this tell me Dickey will do extension w TOR if traded

which means we would have to give up more
what kind of extension
he would want scary dollars

Everybody under the moon has said it'll take 2 years and 20-26 mil to extend Dickey.
