people against the trade are saying " in 2-3 years we'll be screwed"....

I think if AA makes this trade, it's because he wants the next 2-3 years to be legit contending years and title years. Team hasnt even made the playoffs in so long.

Rely on growth from prospects and possibly be in the same place 2-3 years from now, that the jays have been for decades... OR. Go for it for 2-3 years. Attempt to Win a championship.

I take that risk, this city needs to win something. The whole point of sports is to win the championship and be the best team in the league...
I think people are missing the very big picture here. They say "oh I want to compete for many years not just 2-3". But if we do this deal, we have a great shot at a division title. Division title means more fans attend games, more watch on tv. Then we get this thing called playoff revenue (something that hasn't happened since I was 6). All That equates to what? Money. Money equates to players. Players also like winning as well.

So IMO this is more than a 2-3 year run. Toronto has the fans, they just don't want to watch a losing team

I mentioned Colby because him and Gose are the best options we have for CF right now. If the Mets are looking for a young CF/OF I would rather push to have that be Rasmus. Even if Gose doesn't improve much with the bat he will probably be a the more valuable player.

I foresee Gose being plenty valuable for someone as a leadoff hitter. The Blue Jays, however, have Jose Reyes. Rasmus still has the ability to be a good middle of the order bat, Gose will never be that.

We already have a great shot at winning the division. On paper we might even be the favorite to do so.

travis d'arnaud was heavily discussed w/ toronto as well as arencibia. hearing #mets may be landing d'arnaud. unconfirmed

uhh oh.. KIDDING ME!

While Lawrie I see as our number 2.. So yes, I think Rasmus better for us

I will puke if this is true, I cannot handle the thought of J.P. Arencibia as the starting catcher of this team for the foreseeable future.

Personally, I'd be shocked if the #BlueJays traded d'Arnaud. But according to @JonHeymanCBS that may be happening.

Still don't think it will happen.

I agree. And IMO we should try to keep Gose and trade some of that pitching depth.

Pretty safe to assume Anthopolous tried to do exactly that, but the Mets aren't looking for your arms, they're looking for a young starting OF. It takes to tango, after all...

Fortunately, the Jays will still have a surplus of cheap controllable arms to trade from to pick up an outfielder if they need one a year or two from now.

But yeah, I think Gose can be a special player, so I just hope Dickey is special for the Jays if that's how the deal plays out.

The deal could still be bigger than we're hearing, but this might be once where the rumour mill actually got it more-or-less right.

As for D'Arnaud, I like him plenty but I like Cy Young winners too. We can't forget that there are two sides to any potential trade, we are getting something in return for these prospects.

We have Battista, Edwin, Lawrie, and TDA as middle of the order guys.

They both bring different value offensively but probably ultimately similar. One guy has more power one guy is way more dangerous on base.

But defensively Gose has way more value. Colby is average defensively with a decent arm while Gose has gold glove potential with one of the best outfield arms in the game.

Maybe Heyman misheard his source or falsely proclaimed the gut feeling as fact?:

Andy Martino‏@MartinoNYDN
Person involved in situation says "gut feeling" D'Arnaud in deal, but like @JonHeymanCBS want to stress that's unconfirmed.

I'm hopping the young OF can be Rasmus + some of that pitching depth is thats what it takes to turn their attention from Gose.

If TDA is going to the Mets, it'll be for more than just Dickey ... Could be another multi-player swap

I don't like it though .. But this whole thing just doesn't seem like an AA thing between all the rumour leaks, tweets, and names being dropped ...

Right handed, right handed, right handed and right handed
