Dickey + Wheeler for JPA + gose + syndergaard

The reason why I don't like the idea of dealing Gose is because we have no other significant bats beyond AA other than D'Arnaud.

You guys are greedy.. This has already been a dream offseason, how can you still want more?

The Mets are looking to cash in with his value at its peak.. Why overpay for what could be one season?

Hypothetically we don't make the playoffs (injuries, underperformance etc) JJ and Dickey might walk as free agents and we gave up all this youth for Reyes, Buehrle and Bonifacio.

How does:

Escobar, Hechavarria, Marisnick, Nicolino, DeSclafani, Arencibia and one of Gose or Rasmus --- for Buehrle, Reyes, Bonifacio look???

What's Wheeler's potential? Giving up Syndergaard and Gose would be a ton.

Still more than likely that bat would be 2-3 years away. Also college bats usually don't have the upside that highschool bats do.

Hes ranked #6 on MLB's top prospects. No way the Mets are dealing him.

Reason why I wouldn't deal Gose: Rasmus isn't that good and he is starting to get expensive now (will make 4+, arb eligible for another year and likely looking at 6-7+ and then FA. Gose makes the minimum for the next 3 seasons and then becomes arbitration eligible. That's huge for keeping the cost down considering Burhrle and Reyes's contracts and possibly a JJ extension... or Dickey if you managed to get him).

Im pretty sure he's a stud prospect that would be a 1-2 pitcher. Could be wrong though.

This as well. Keep costs low in as many areas as you can and use those savings to re-invest in your product through re-signing your own players (Johnson/Dickey) or acquiring others.

Giving up JP and Gose really doesn't put a sting in our minor league system at all to be honest..

(Syndergaard, Sanchez, Osuna, Norris, Smoral) I could go on..

It may not hurt our system but he'd be a big loss to the team IMO

Something like JPA, Rasmus, 1 of Nolin, Norris, Smoral + another non top 10 prospect.
