AA can make a verbal argument. This doesn't happen often but it sometimes happens when a team wants to keep a player for a playoff run, but then trade them after it's over. Kadri in junior is a good example of this. He was traded for Steve Mason at the trade deadline but not formally sent to London untill the summer.

Actually it happens quite often in baseball. Called a player to be named later.
