That makes no sense because once Bautista got injured, it was Edwin that was behind Rasmus and he was having even a better season than Jose. Not that line-up protection means anything but Rasmus struggling because Jose wasn't there is a total myth.

A good player should be able to hit and succeed regardless of were they hit in the lineup and certainly shouldnt be dependant on "getting pitchs" because of the guy behind him.

If Colby's going to put up a .515 OPS when he's not hitting in front of Jose (even though he just went to hitting in front of Edwin who was just as good last year), its not exactly a ringing indictment of his skills.

I hope not...

We should stand pat and see where we're at... AL East has a lot more potent offense then the NL East... Besides, if JJ and Rickey pitch how they can, and Morrow stays healthy, we don't need him.


Giving up JP and Gose/Rasmus would be overkill IMO.. Go sign Rafael Soriano and call it a day... I we're in the hunt and need pitching come June-July, then pony up the assets to get some...


If things don't work out, we'll have added a whole lot of payroll and given up a lot of youth an potential.. We could be right back where we we're 6 years ago and have to start fresh..
