Remember Fernando Valenzuela? Remember Junior Felix? Even remember Johnny Bower? These are all pro athletes believed to be much older than their officially listed birth date. I believe there may be a candidate on the current team for the same situation. Think highly competent at a notoriously difficult position to master at a young age. Think never struggled at any minor league level. It never actually matters if the player performs.

It’s Gurriel, isn’t it? I knew it! Because of being Cuban

I think this was always the best and most feasible option.

I love the Dome. You know you’ll always see a game no matter the weather. The quarter billion should spruce up what is a stadium in the perfect location.

unless 100 million is used to take away some concrete, I hate this announcement

Unless they can steepen the seat grading, it's all a waste. Regardless of any other upgrades, you'll still spend 3 hours staring at the back of the head of the person in front of you.

Kaitlyn McGrath proposed;

To Cleveland:
2B Cavan Biggio
LF Lourdes Gurriel Jr.
C Alejandro Kirk
3B Jordan Groshans

To Toronto:
3B Jose Ramirez

I got no problem trading Biggio and Gurriel. I understand Kirk has to be in the deal too but i think i draw the line at including Groshans as well unless management soured on him too.

Excuse my ignorance but are the Indians now the Guardians?

Why is Groshans where you draw the line. Three proven or close to young mlb’ers plus a prospect seems like overpay to say the least. I think that package is one mlb piece too heavy

Yeah, if we're getting Ramirez, then no issue with sending Groshans the other way.

The name that doesn't make sense to me on that list is Biggio. If we deal him then we open a hole at 2B again - and Cleveland's best prospect is most likely a 2B and due to debut next year.

Groshan's isnt the line for me. Its just having him as the 4th piece which is a bit much for me and it sounds like you are in the same boat. If Cleveland accepts a deal where it is 1, 2 or 3 of those pieces then i gladly trade Gurriel, Biggio, Groshans and Kirk in that order.

But I know at the very least Kirk and Gurriel have to be in the deal to get it done for Cleveland. If they are willing to make a deal without Kirk, i would trade Groshans no problem; i just wouldnt trade all 4 players for 2 years of Ramirez UNLESS this FO doesnt see Groshans as a starting 3B.

Biggio as a 2B may not fit with Cleveland but they may use him as a utility guy.

I got no problem dealing Biggio if he is needed in the deal. Espinal can handle 2B and dont forget Otto Lopez is on the 40 man and deserves a shot too. Kevin Smith can play 2B/3B.

I bet one of Biggio, Espinal and/or Lopez is traded before the season.

I don't see Biggio as a utility guy - no arm. Pure 2B to me. Espinal and Smith are more qualified for utility.

Keep in mind that the Jays stated they wanted to add more left handed batters - Biggio fits that, whereas the other 3 guys bat right.

I agreed on Biggio being a pure 2B, but this FO and im sure others think he might be able to give you some versatility in the field, maybe in the OF, 1B and the odd game at 3B. But i like him just at 2B.

I agree, i prefer to keep Biggio and use Espinal as a utility guy. But if Cleveland needs Biggio in the deal for Ramirez, i gladly make the trade and try Lopez and/or Espinal at 2B or go after another FA.

No need to respond to all of the posts but I’ll respond to yours. I think the three major leaguers would require an add from Cleveland. I don’t mind moving Biggio with Espinal on board. But even if it’s the three and we retain Kirk I think he’s then immediately flipped for another arm. We simply have too many catchers and they are all young and likely desirable.
