Yeah I was under the impression he was good, until I saw him play

As a Jays fan I watch the AL not the NL.

You guys get so defensive with criticism here hence why I haven't posted here in a while, don't like wasting my time arguing back and forth with the posters here.
So you don’t like making ridiculous and baseless statements and then having to defend them with words or any kind of proof? Makes sense. Just an FYI every poster would be asked to do the same. Adult discussions can be hard some times

No I never liked him, I felt he didn't throw hard enough and looks like I was right because this last season showed he is way overrated, and then he would only want to pitch to Jansen if you're good you should be able to pitch to anyone, so does that mean Jansen then has to go to the same team as Ryu when he's gone. The game has change, slow pitchers aren't as dominant as they used to be, they can get lucky some can be decent but their not dominant, plus he's 34 he's not getting any younger. You're probably one of those fans who were upset with management when they traded guys like EE and Donaldson as well, when it's time to move on it's time to move on.
Well it’s already proven that you didn’t “always dislike him”. He can pitch to any catcher but he probably likes the way Jansen calls his games. I don’t get why that’s some kind of sticking point for you. I haven’t checked if there’s even a bases to that statement. I’m one of those fans that knows that EE signed elsewhere as a free agent . But yes Ryu is getting older and declining a little. But the good thing is that non flamethrowers tend to age better so here’s to hoping he rebounds next year.

I know I suggest trading Kirk a lot, but honestly, I'd rather keep him around for the DH. I fully expect Hernandez and Gurriel to bail in a couple years and I don't trust Jansen, and Springer feels like a wild card at times-he's either injured, just kind of meh, or a one man wrecking crew-so it will be nice to have what appears to be another great young bat for the long term. Kind of worried about his footspeed though. If he's this slow at his age, imagine when he's pushing 30.

That said, because of Moreno, I'd totally take a young stud pitcher in return. Again, pitching is what saved the Jays this year. Their so-called elite offense was only good for 500.

Lol people are open to criticism if it is presented in an intelligent way and backed up with facts.

You definitely didn’t do that here lol

Who in this forum ever does? Nobody here is consistent with facts and logic except like two people and even they are routinely wrong or say silly things. Heck, even I operate mostly on speculation, I just happen to be damn good at it.

Really, the problem here isn't people saying something dumb, but how quick y'all are to ambush them. When I first started posting here, the vast majority of replies I got were hostile, even the most vanilla of posts, so I became hostile in kind. Frankly, you guys are just getting back what you hand out.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if this forum gets cancelled.

Everyone can say weird or incorrect things for sure. But this guy is making ridiculous claims not unlike yourself at times without backing them up in any way. I recently said I don’t want Bryant or Freeman. No basis just personal opinion and that’s fine. But I’m not speaking in facts saying that. He was.

as for Kirk I would be comfortable trading Kirk in the right package. I’d hate to see him go but I think he certainly is expendable in the right trade. I think Lourdes isn’t long for this team but I do think they’ll try and lock up teoscar long term.

Like people trying to defend Fisher as a good player last time I made a comment here

Enjoy that wasted $20M a year and frustration when he pitches 1 good game every 5 games

And you better hope and pray Jansen doesn't get hurt again because than I guess Ryu will be completely useless

In 2020, he made 12 starts and allowed two or fewer runs in 9 of them. He was one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball.

"He can't be dominant because he doesn't throw hard enough" is remarkably stupid. Dominance is in the results, not the style.

I will enjoy it thank you. Once the lockout ends I'll start praying. Thanks for the advice. See you in two years when you come back saying how much you love Ryu and how people don't appreciate soft throwing pitchers and you've always had to defend him

I'm just going to continue to come here and voice my opinion as a fan since 93, and if that bothers you and you want to reply fine but don't expect a reply back anymore, but it's not going to stop me from voicing my opinion.

I'm sure when you're at the bar or restaurant and you over hear a group of people talking about a certain player and you don't agree with them you go over there and start arguing with them and telling them how great their career era is

LOL. Oh no I won’t be able to discuss your strong knowledge of baseball with you anymore. Man this day just keeps getting worse. I’d rather go by stats than your opinion or concern myself with how fast he throws a ball.

Jram is the superior player with what will be the better contract although just for two years. Hitting from the side of the plate we need most. He’s the way better fit and I’d prefer to give up assets to get him and hope we can retain him for the dollars we’d have to give up for Bryant. The price will be high but as long as it’s not the two big prospects it’s all good by me. Kirk, Gurriel, Groshans works for me.
Who’s in LF if we move Gurriel?

I want to keep Gurriel at almost all costs we would be so thin in the outfield after Springer and Teo. For J- Ram Something like Kirk, 1 of Martinez or Groshans, Kloff, Smith and Grichuck would be my offer. I might even move all 3 of Groshans, Martinez, Kirk if we can keep Moreno and Gurriel and they can give us a reliever too.

I dont like Ryu is a perfectly valid opinion (shared by more than a few here who are worried that a drop off is coming). The issue is that you tried to qualify it and people were correcting the qualification. In any situation, your opinion could be wrong (same with anyone else), but people tend correct evidence which is incorrect in case it tangibly changes opinions.

4,5 innings at most, then pull him.

100% on board.we can figure out the OF later if he says yes.

He could replace Grichuk, but he may want a full time gig even though Grichuk plays most games due to injuries and guys (mostly Springer) DHing anyways. We would not save much money, but one would hope that Suzuki would be an upgrade on Grichuk at least.

Either that or Gurriel can be used in a trade and Suzuki replaces him.
