If I hadn't seen the pre-game I'd assume that they were each calling the game remotely and weren't in teh same room given how awkward it is.

Why wouldn't that be a HR? If it was below the line then the ball was still live and the GB guys gave up on it while Cassie got around the bases. The only thing different is that it's an inside-the-park Hr instead of a normal over-the-wall variety.

I have to leave for a WHL game in like 90 minutes. This morning I figured "I've got lots of time to watch the WBC game and then have time to spare to get ready to leave."

"Why would you use that defense against a minor league player? You can't know what to expect when you haven't seen him hit in the majors."

And this guy was a major league manager. I get that analytics weren't really around back then, but did they not even have anyone scouting the minors?

Yeah that was pretty much it.

He was also sort of amazed that they had heat maps for minor league hitters now.

But never even mind scouting, surely Buck could've phoned the AA manager and asked "you've seen this guy a lot. What's he like?"
