So I guess the Jays will have ZERO prospects then.

Jays not in a position to empty a very light prospects cupboard.
I say give the kids a chance.
Their best players for stretches were Schneider and Ernie Clement who quietly hit .380 with good defense for the 2023 jays.

Not really, you still have quite a bit.

MLB ready guys;

-Barger
-Jimenez,
-Palmegiani
-Horwitz
-Francis
-Roden
-Zulueta
-Dallas
-Cooke

Former top picks form the last 2 years;

-Nimmala
-Watts-Brown
-Toman
-Doughty
-Kasevich
-Maroudis
-Bohrofen
-O'Halloran

Other guys with potential; De Jesus, Macko, Bonilla, Beltre, Mesa, Mezia, Brown.

Also keep in mind, since Bo and Vladdy graduated, think about all the prospects that have come up. Literally only 3 hit; Moreno, Kirk and Manoah. Kirk and Manoah had all star seasons and then had off years. Moreno had a good year 1 and we will see. Everyone was used in trade, flamed out or was just a guy.

Not a good idea to trade all your prospects, but remember, prospects are just prospect and if you are trading a few for a legit star like Ramirez with control, you do it. Especially since it is a huge need at a position where there are only a few stars.

Call Tampa and see which ones they are interested in. Then keep those ones.

Turner only played 7 games at 3B last year. He's probably more of a 1B/DH type now. Maybe that had more to do with Dever I don't know.

He's played 970 games at 3B in his career. By far the most of any position.

Ed got outbid again .. same old same old .. can't blame an agent for getting his client da mx .. that's life .. winners win losers lose
Stop with the clown comments. It would not have mattered because everything was designed to get the most money out of the Dodgers. He was never coming here no matter how much was offered.

Stick to what you know, when you finally figure that out.

Very true. I like Hoo Lee a lot. i think he is a perfect fit.

Isn't a lot of his value tied to him being a CF? We kinda have to keep that spot open for Varsho for him to have any real value.

I think you'll be so much happier once you find the ignore button ;)

Yeah, I had removed everyone off ignore. What was I thinking?

Resign Ryu for 2 years. Give Woodruff a Chad Green style contract.

2024:

Gausman
Berrios
Bassitt
Kikuchi

Ryu
Manoah

2025:

Gausman
Woodruff
Berrios
Bassitt

Ryu
Manoah
Tiedemann

The rest of you can work on the position player moves.

Thing with re-signing Ryu is he is a starter. He takes a long time to get warmed up so the bullpen is probably out of the question for him if Manoah regains form.

Also Kikuchi failed us this offseason. Trade him. :sarcasm:

Can't depend on Manoah. Need insurance, and Ryu looked healthy. Also a hedge against poor performances by one of the top 4.

Remember there were rumblings of a 6 man rotation as Gausman and Ryu have much better stats with an extra day of rest.

Right, if the Jays did this all of those clubs would be grabbing their pitchforks.
Im pretty sure the league would find a way to poke holes if the Jays try to do this

Oh well, Im not a Jays fan or any teams' fan, I just like following Ohtani.

Good luck to the Jays this off-season

Well new CBA will be interesting. If this becomes the new norm RIP to small market teams.
I mean...im not a leafs fan (Im a canucks fan for what matters)

But isn't this type of soft salary cap what many leafs fans want the NHL to follow?

If they do, the NHL will become a 4-5 teams league just like the MLB with Toronto, NYR and LA at the top

Makes sense. Ohtani is a 1 of 1 in every sense. Not many (if any) players could reasonably defer that much, but he makes so much off the field, he's fine. Just a really smart move.
