If he has a client worth hundred of millions of dollars outside of baseball I'm sure he can get that. Nobody else in baseball is getting that contract.

Shohei's deal beats out the formerly insane money that was only reserved for the titans of international soccer like Messi and Rinaldo (at least in terms of the lifetime of the contract. soccer players usually make laughably stupid annual salaries)

Could’ve been the Giants as well but yeah, unless Nez Balelo and Ohtani are the greatest bluffers in the world, the Dodgers must’ve thought there was a real and serious chance that Ohtani would sign elsewhere or they’re not offering him anywhere close to $700 million.
People just need to exhale. This contract is stupid. Greatest player to ever to put the uniform on but giving this guy 700 million (925 million CAD) without filling any other holes is a disaster waiting to happen
