Watching Canucks fans talk themselves into Ghost being a good substitute for OEL is the best thing that's happened today.

I have bever been to that forum but read your post and was kinda bored. Not sure many posters have ever seen him play? He ain't presently the OEL of a few years ago but one guy wondered if he was a 3 or 4?? IMO he's at worst a middle of pack 1D.

OEL is a top 3 Dman on any team, for sure. McDavid, himself called OEL the best stick in the west. I truly think he is a great D, just f***ing fire Tocchet

Yeah, but that's basically the UFA deadline anyway. This clown thinks he's calling the shots apparently.

But it could benefit us. If Benning faces the reality of having to scrape the FA barrel to solve his D problems or have OEL available it may finally force him to come up with the pieces to get the deal done. Same with Sweeney if it becomes clear he has no out in the FA market. If it's true that the team is not prepared to take on a dump then it doesn't matter, no deal will be done.

If GMBA hasn't realized yet that RT is a one trick pony that is incapable of developing talent then he's a fool. There is zero point in the Coyotes building a fine tuned scouting department if the organization does not have the capability of developing the scouted players from prospect to mature NHL player.

If they have "final" offers on the table from Boston and Vancouver and OEL has made it absolutely clear that he will go to either of those locations by 11:59pm Thursday, or he will remain a Coyote, there really isn't anything to wait on. There's no reason to take this to the draft floor, as none of the three teams have a first round pick.
