OEL is very over rated on HF Boards.

he does pal

This should paint a pretty good picture of their effectiveness and usage.

Code:
						CF% OppCF%	TeamCF%	O%	D%	N%
FRANSON, CODY 46.0 50.6 44.9 25.5	37.3	37.2
EKMAN-LARSSON, OLIVER	51.2 50.6 49.0 27.7	32.5	39.8

Both face the opponents highest CF% players on the other team but OEL easily outperforms Franson in CF%.

Franson has significantly more D-Zone starts but the Leafs D in general has a high percentage of D-Zone starts. Both Franson and OEL are second on their teams.

Both players play with teammates who have worse corsi than themselves. OEL's Corsi over that of the players he plays with is 2.2% while Franson's is 1.1%.

This is not a leaf thread

haha ok pal whatever you say.
He is easily a top 20 D in the league, I don't think that many people have him higher but at 23 yo that's damn good.

That's cool that you use points and plus minus to make your judgement. No wonder Leafs fans hype Franson up.....OEL is a stud and I'd kill for him on my team. Just watch, you'll see in the next couple years.

Not sure if this is about OEL...

Or another thread on how underrated the Leaf players...

Sorry but OEL is a much better D-man than anyone on the Leafs roster.

Just swing on by the player discussions on Phaneuf and Franson and you will see...

Wouldn't take him on the Sens for free. OEL and Karlsson would make an awful pairing...

:help:

Edit: didn't realize you were joking, you might want to try a sarcasm button because with the Hee Haw level of this thread its really tough to tell no matter how far fetched the post.

I have been saying is a good for awhile--but some of the comments on the trade board is just silly. OEL is not a generational D-man--above average--but not a generational D man Like Lindstrom or Pronger(If he had stayed healthy he could been top 5 of all time) or a Ray bourque. In the main trade discussion some of the demands are just silly--Previously it was Malkin with the Pens adding a pick or something and not one for one McDavid----he is one of the best D-men in the league--but he is not generational by any streatch and he is playing in stress free Arizona--we do not know how he would react to playing in a hockey mad city like TO, Edmonton, Chicago or Detroit--that is the wild card right there

I agree he's overrated on these boards, but that ain't saying much. There are a lot of overrated players in this fantasy world called HFBOARDS. That being said, I wouldn't move him if I was the Coyotes unless it was a really sweet offer. Too much upside and still young. If he's untouchable, I wouldn't blame the coyotes.

However, the trade offers from Yote's fans have been ridiculous mentioning people like Tavares and Stamkos. WTF!?!

This board throws around the term overrated/underrated like loose change.

Coyotes fans asking for an arm and a leg for OEL ≠ they think he's the next Ray Bourque

Coyotes fans slightly overpraising him relative to non-Coyotes fans not doing the same = homerism, which exists for every fanbase's favorite young stars

I'll gladly take his overrated butt on the Rangers. Gimme a break.

Call him over or underrated if you want. He's a young top pairing defenseman on a great contract. He's part of the solution there, not the problem.

They're not "offers". They are gently telling you what type of player OEL would really only ever be moved for (as part of a package), based on what their GM has said. I know this, because you're referring to my post.

He is 100% part of the solution. If what is offered in trade isn't absolutely incredible, there's no reason to move him. Not a single Coyote fan has made an "OEL to ---" thread.

Points, plus/minus and Cody Franson are the reason OEL is overrated. Okayyy. Funny how the Yotes had to play the Leafs before OEL wound up on OP's radar.

Well not that long ago people called him better than Subban. So I'll agree he is overrated on this forum.

If the game is on the line you want OEL out there over Subban every day of the week. Hes a stud
