Just gonna pop in and say while we usually butt heads here it is appreciated that discussion happens and doesn’t devolve into personal attacks here, unlike several other sites and places. Y’all are cool and this season will most likely be pretty rough all things consisdered. Hopefully they right the ship in the near future to at least play some competitive hockey. We don’t have elite talent but we have some talent that should be helping us win games.

Anyone else see a lot of parallels between this team and the 05-06 bruins?

Strong finish season before, some changes made. Doesn't quite click and leads to a one off high pick (Phil Kessel in their case)

So if Hank goes down with an injury, like even 5-8 games, this team is dead. With their start they've left no room for any sort of dip in play between now and the end of the season. This team has been tremendously healthy so far this season and they have stunk it up. When injuries eventually hit, things could get worse.
From what you’ve seen from Lundqvist, what makes you think Pavelec couldn’t do any better?

This is a safe place. God bless you all.

Reg, you’re still not answering my question. It’s a tactically flawed system, which I’ve laid out my thoughts about why. I’m asking you about other teams that play that way. They didn’t just start chasing people around this season. It’s been for three years now.
Yes, the difference being was that up until last year, Henke covered the warts of the system up.

Yup, but the biggest question is where to find that type of talent. Just to throw out another college kid, Adam Gaudette is another one I'd love to find a way to get. Another huge wild card is Sean Day who has so much tantalizing talent, but the kid has rocks for brains. Gorton's MO has been kids with size, speed, and skill who are all very skilled at controlling the puck through the neutral zone. There's a lot of interesting pieces that can play a unique style of hockey, but that's all just an idea until proven otherwise.

The top end of the draft is the obvious spot, though as we both know, it's not a guarantee. It's going to take a little bit of luck as well. The Rangers have done well at the draft, but they've also made some asinine decisions. My hope is that if the organizational mentality shifts, they'll be less inclined to draft those safe players.

I've got a good feeling about Berezgalov.
A lot of the high end KHL players that have made the jump recently have looked pretty good so far Hopefully he can be the next Zaitsev.

Between him, Pionk, Graves and Day, you would think we are going to be able to hit big on at least one of them.

Good thing we have elite posters here.

Timetables, timetables, timetables.

If your Gorton, when do you know it's time to pull the plug. Both on the coach and a few of your older players. Because it's becoming obvious that while this team has room to be better, it is not a contender and certain guys are not going to be around when it legitimately is.

My answer would be 1997 and 2017

Wow, Cracknell was here and gone faster than us giving up the first goal. (assuming he doesn't clear waivers)

If Cracknell is claimed off waivers, he is tied for the shortest stint in Rangers history for a player claimed and lost on waivers. Trent Whitfield in 2002 was on the roster for 17 days in between waiver claims, same as Cracknell when claimed tomorrow.
