I thought the same thing after the Nash trade.
Now I burn his effigy every second thursday of the month
I agree. If we're going to go for it now, just do it already...don't go halfway.
This team still has a number of holes even with MSL, so what is the point? We're kinda sorta planning for the future, but we're also kinda sorta mortgaging the future for now.
Sather's only plan is to not have a plan.
Just answer me this. Do you believe MSL makes us a cup favorite in the next 2-3 seasons or before he retires? If not, then why bother?
It's actually multiple picks. The picks we save + the ones we pick up by trading Callahan. And sure, no pick outside the top-5 has never done a damn thing in the NHL. Right.
What is the excuse for the last 2 games again?![]()
Yeah I get that but this is bigger than Nash. Nash wishes he was MSL.
Ryan Callahan on SN: "We were close enough, that we thought it would get done".
...that's a point.
This is so frustrating. MSL is one of my favorite players. Callahan is my favorite athlete.
Couldn't we have given Tampa the Nash package for MSL instead? Avoided Slack Nash altogether?
cally for 6 more years at 6 per is worse than not having msl on the roster 2 years from now. if its a 1st and a 2nd for 4 years of cap space and 2 yrs of msl, thats still worth it to me.
well win more games with msl than we would with cally. hard to argue that.
of all the options, this one is the best we could have asked for. too many people are hung up on the draft picks.
the market for cally just wasnt there.
No, because "Slack Nash" can be a gamebreaker in an instant. How many times has he tied or put the game away this season? Nash is a Hossa-type. Chicago does it right. They don't rely on Hossa, he's an excellent supplement. Nash instantly becomes a secondary player with MSL on the roster. This is great.
...this just makes me sadder

It makes me totally fine we gave up the picks. Callahan will be as bad as Drury, Gomez and Redden combined in 3 years.
