You can't convince me that NHL teams would trade for Namestnikov and not Strome who scored 21 goals last year.I mean, the return doesn’t matter, someone has to actually want him

Cap flexibility for what exactly...? His deal is expiring
K, I won’tYou can't convince me that NHL teams would trade for Namestnikov and not Strome who scored 21 goals last year.
Wasn't there some danger that we could go over the cap if some of our players met their bonuses? How much cap space does this give them and what can they realistically use it for?
Could just this was the first offer they’ve gotten for Vlad and they jumped on it. Could want some extra cap space to maybe take back an expiring contract at the deadline as part of a larger deal if they need toThey really didn't need the cap space.
I'm kind of scared.

I just saw the long face and I got excited that we had Bobby Farnham under contract somehowRe: cap flexibility...

^^ this thing still exists.
This is the likeliest explanation. Nothing to see here. A 4th and an AHL RHD is a win for Namestnikov. Dime a dozen player making way too much.Could just this was the first offer they’ve gotten for Vlad and they jumped on it. It feels like they’ve been trying to trade him since they got himThis is the likeliest explanation. Nothing to see here. A 4th and an AHL RHD is a win for Namestnikov. Dime a dozen player making way too much.
This is a good point.Maybe there's another trade by Ottawa coming. Pittsburgh lost Malkin and Bjugstad to long-term injuries. Maybe Ottawa moves a center to PIT? It's not like Melnyk to take on salary.
