This what I'd expect him to say, but it's also what I expect him to do.
LYING ALREADY!![]()
Have you ever heard of the expression "where there's smoke, there's fire?"
Those are my teams as well. Dont do Knicks anymore.Mets, jets and rangers! Which one can one more dysfunctional. Its like they are trying to outdo each other.
I think Slats is going to be more involved behind the scenes as a liaison between Drury and Dolan. Those are my teams as well. Dont do Knicks anymore.
But yeah, pretty scary. Dont they realize that people dont buy the newspapers anymore? Not about the headlines. Jeez.
On a side note, Drury surely has gone up the ladder very quickly, now hasn't he? Now, he is wearing 2 hats, and unproven in those aspects. Where's Slats? (Joke)
To be fair, that's a stupid question to ask a player.Smitty was ready to pop off "I didn't see you square off against Wilson"
I think Dolan expected to sneak into the playoffs this year and be a full on contender next year. He probably asked JG and JD if that is their expectations for next year as well, and they probably told him the truth that the kids need another year or two to really get going, which really doesn't line up with our vets ages and contracts. The whole 'first overall and 2nd overall sped up our window opening' ended up being false- it seems that KK and Laf's slower than expected growth to dominant players did them in.I think the concern is that guys like Zibanejad, Kreider, Panarin, Trouba, and Strome, who all make big money or will need to be locked down with big money, are in that 28-31 range where you start to get nervous about their play declining. It feels like, with those five at their ages, you maybe have 2-3 years of their primes left; and the guys like Kakko, Lafreniere, and Kravtsov are maybe still a year or two away from their primes. It's almost like you have the young core and the veteran core, and there's some concern about whether they'll all be performing at a high level at the same time.
I know many people have been saying it for a year or two around here, but it never really struck me as a potential problem until about midway through this season. Of course, if those young guys take a big step next year, all is well, at least for a couple season. But if they continue their deliberate development paths, we could run into a situation where when they are truly ready for prime time, the veteran core is in real decline.
To be fair, that's a stupid question to ask a player.

I think Georgie's value at the time was nothing more than a mid to late rounder. Never had any value like some fans thought he had.
Bettman put the hit out after that statement.
Darth Vader needed to show everyone who was boss.
Dolan is a coward.

my guess that public embarrassment/character assassination of ADA did not sit well with Drury?
"Character assassination."my guess that public embarrassment/character assassination of ADA did not sit well with Drury?
Like a 4th or 5th round pick or a b/c prospectmid to late rounder?
Sather’s part in this is interesting.
He really is the only guy that can push back against Dolan. I’m sure he’s not thrilled he’s pulled back into the fray when he’s probably trying to enjoy life at this pin t
"A very RICH coward, and I just don't understand HOW Dolan would concede. Unless.......
Bettman threatened to let the cat out of the bag on the last 2 lotteries.
Bettman is a clown, running this whole damned circus.
Drury has worked for the organization for six years. He has very clearly been ready for a GM role as other teams have coveted him and he's turned them down. He might be unproven in those precised roles, but at some point he was either going to leave or need to get promoted here.
Let's not act like this is Messier who just wants to be given a lead role without paying his dues. Drury has been a Rangers loyalist and has put in a lot of work for more than half a decade. He's earned this chance whether with us or someone else.
