Confirmed with Link: NYR claim Cody McLeod

When you lose battle after battle every game, to me that shows a lack of compete level. I'm tired of us losing every single one on one battle. The compete level is intolerable. What does Vinni Letteri, Paul Carey, David Desharnais do well? If all these players on our team are so great why are we third last in corsi rating? Why do we lose every single puck battle? Why does Lundqvist have to call out the team every game?

Please don't pretend you were a cody mcleod. Anyone that played that type of game, understands the value that brings. The only people that hate the Cody McLeod's are the guys that play against those types of players and guys that get scared of those types of players.
Double amen. Next time someone does something dirty in a game vs the Rangers let’s not retaliate. We can do

A. Put the puck in the net on the PP if the referees even call it with McD on PP 1:laugh:

B. Offer to have some conflict mediation in an on-ice safe space

Glass was very effective in last years playoffs

"very" "effective"

He had 2 good energy games and a slum dog millionaire Patrick Kane backhander.

I'm not convinced Ty Ronning can't replicate that with equal motivation and effort.

We're shit in Corsi because our coach is obsessed with playing a "transition" game and has this method of man defense that our defenders don't understand. I see no issues with the "compete" level, I see guys that aren't particularly adept at winning battles along the boards, and otherwise have no idea where they're supposed to be. That's cool though, because Mr. Cody "-7.2% Corsi Rel Since 2013!" McLeod is here to f***ing help.

And no, I wasn't Cody McLeod. I played men's league hockey in goddamn Maryland. No fighting allowed. But balls to the wall in every other aspect? Yes, that was me. I still try to play that way, despite the fact that I'm old, out of shape and have arthritis. But let's step back--who said I hate Cody McLeod? Did you skip the part where I said I emulated guys like him as best I could in any sport? I LOVE the tough guys, the guys who played on and often crossed the edge. My views on those players have also evolved to the point where I see their usefulness is rapidly diminishing. I'm kind of amazed that you run around talking about Corsi yet actively advocate for having guys that suck at actually playing the game getting regular shifts. You are quite the rare breed in that respect.

I’m in tons of “ minorities” opinion wise including politically around here. I’m ok with it though because I know I’m right and I win. I also don’t think it’s an infinitesimal minority. I think you’d be surprised. Maybe with people on here under 30 yrs old.

Ah, one of the, "I don't care if everyone else disagrees, I'm right!" people. That's all I need to know. And yes, it's an infinitesimal minority on HFNYR, which I know from the stupidly long period of time I've been frequenting this board. But I know, I know--it doesn't matter because you're right and you win.

Have the last word, champ!

Ty Ronning is awesome.

One, McDonagh was still concussed after McIlrath fought Simmonds. And two, it absolutely did not happen the way you are describing it. Simmonds went as soon as the opportunity was there. The fight happened 39 seconds into the game. McIlrath had been on the ice for 13 seconds. Why make **** up?
Oh and I would like to add for the record that the McIlrath-Simmonds fight made such an impact on the league re: the Rangers ability to make you pay for your discretions that no one elbowed McDonagh violently in the head for almost a full five days afterwards.
