unfortunately with the ownership the only real way to change that is Maye turns into the next Josh Allen
According to the article, the Patriots are optimistic that Vrabel and Maye will help them attract some of their free agent targets.

As for ownership... I don't know. I think Belichick had complete control of Football Operations for a number of years and he had his own way of doing things that he and Brady made work... until it didn't work. I was listening to a beat reporter state that the organization found out last season that Bill was handling responsibilities that no one knew he had taken on until he left. I think they know they've fallen behind, but I'm not sure they realize exactly how far behind they actually are.

For example, it's great that the Patriots are building a new practice facility. It's clearly needed, and the Krafts should be applauded for building it. But... I kind of winced when I read it was going to cost $50 million. To put it in perspective, the Revolution's practice facility cost $35 million. Belichick's new facility at UNC cost $48 million in 1998, and recently underwent a $15 million renovation. The University of Florida's new practice facility cost $85 million, and each individual locker cost $15,000. The University of Georgia's practice facility renovation was done by renowned architects HOK Sports. When the Patriots decided they wanted to upgrade their weight room a few years ago, they put Matt Patricia in charge of the project.

Lying season in full effect. Happens LITERALLY every single year....and every single year, people forget this. Someone always reaches on a qb.
You're right, but I feel as if those reports about Sanders being closer to QB3 than QB1 match the eye test. When I watched Sanders, I saw a really good college QB that's accurate, but held on to the ball too long and lacked high end arm talent.

What’d Bobby buy the new practice facility from Temu?

Patricia in charge of a weight room is scary.

"According to multiple sources, the Patriots were taken aback by how many players didn’t want to come to New England – even if there was more money on the table. The Patriots goal last year was to sign receiver Calvin Ridley and defensive tackle Christian Wilkins. They were also turned down later in the summer by receiver Brandon Aiyuk. Top free-agent tackle Tyron Smith also didn’t want to come to New England."

People wanted to come to NE to play with winners - Brady and Belichek.

You strip those two away and the cheapness of Kraft along with the " work in progress " roster is too much to ignore.

I think Maye is a year or maybe two away from free agents saying " I want to play with THAT kid " over other options.

Arizona just announced they're spending $100M on their new facility. All of it reminds me of the story Pete Carroll told about Kraft wanting to serve players bologna sandwiches when he was here.

We knew that was coming

Chiefs?
Depends on what Adams is looking for.

If he's willing to take a huge pay cut, then sure. But the Chiefs are roughly $20 million over the cap after tagging Trey Smith.

If he's just looking for the largest deal, then the Patriots would have a shot.

If he's looking for a decent amount of money and a chance to win, maybe a team like the Chargers makes some sense.

I’d love him here on the Bregman type deal short and sweet

Was Stanley Tagged ?

Chris Godwin can still ball. Would absolutely target him. I think Adams has juice left in the tank, too.

I think Kupp is washed but a low risk deal? Fine.

Joe Thuney traded to the Bears for a 4th round pick. I know he is 32 but he is a stud. Not a big return......

KC needed to make a painful move to get under the cap. They were $18 million over it and moving Thuney cleared $16 million (though even with the move he still counts for $10 million against their cap)

THIS!!

How do you not pick up the phone on a 3 time All Pro?
No kidding, all they got was a 4th round pick for him.

The more I think about it, if I am NE and Hunter or Carter are off the board, we trade down.
Get one of Ty Warren or Jeantry, with the extra pick we get, then take someone on the OL.
We need players that will make an immediate impact next year on offense, one of these two players fill that role.

Reading up on some post-combine coverage, apparently, Shadeur Sanders did not impress teams with the way he interviewed, and nearly every NFL source is telling reporters that Cam Ward won't get out of the Top 3, but then there's a gap between Ward and Sanders. One article stated that Sanders was a lot closer to being QB3 than QB1.

So, it sounds like there's now something like a greater than 90% chance that the top 3 picks are Carter, Ward, and Hunter, in some order.

That'd leave the Patriots in a position where they'd either be choosing flawed players at a premium position (Campbell, Graham, Johnson, McMillan, Williams, Walker...) or better overall prospects at a less premium position (Warren, Jeanty, Membou, etc.)

Buddy of mine made a pretty compelling case for Tyler Warren at #4 today.
I don't love TEs that high.

DK come on down buddy, don’t worry about pronouncing Massachusetts. Foxboro is easy to say.
I think he went on a podcast a few months ago and essentially didn't seem keen on coming here because it's cold.

Now maybe money can talk. But he said there was no ill will. Just the coldness wasn't a vibe. Let me see if I can find it.

Edit: found it easily lol you can listen to the full podcast to see he was really not into the idea

Lockett same boat as Kupp for me- he’s possibly even more washed but if they still plan on riding with Polk and Baker I think it’s imperative they get a leader in that receiver room. I know ppl rave about Lockett’s character.
