But best defensive D full stop? No way. I would take Tanev over him honestly, and many others.

Fans always hate it when a player spurns your team, but Fox clearly made the right call forcing his way to NY. There’s no way his opportunity would have been as great had he been on a team with Hamilton and Pesce. Not suggesting those players are better than Fox, just saying his opportunities wouldn’t have been the same and He likely wouldn’t have been in line for a payday like this. He got the opportunity he wanted, on a team he wanted to play for and showed what he can do. Good for him.

He’s the real Deal. Huge cap hit but signing him now instead of before he has another monster season might have been really smart.

100%. He's already playing a Norris level again this year. He's staggeringly good. The smartest player I have ever witnessed in a Rangers jersey other than Gretzky. I've never seen another player think the game like him at the speed he does. He's not just a move or two in front of everyone else. It feels like he's 5-10 moves ahead.

Hes the 3rd or 4th highest paid player at his position. He's so probably a top 5 player at his position. Fair deal, not sure how this can be a steal or steep discount when it's one of the richest we've seen but nice deal for both player and team.

This is a perfectly fair contract but the Rangers are going to be in an awful cap situation in the near future.
