Wouldn't dream of trading him when he's playing like thisand his trade value is soaring, two sides to a coin……..

I have noticed that Knies uses his body to shield the puck, and pressure guys on the forecheck, but he doesn't throw many hits. Hope he adds some of that to his game as time goes alongTake this with a grain of salt because I can't figure out what the NHL considers a hit sometimes but Nylander according to NHL.com has throw more hits this year than Knies.
He also has only 1 giveaway this year which is remarkable considering how often he has the puck
You don’t trade a player like Willy. Franchise player.and his trade value is soaring, two sides to a coin……..
I said it a month ago, 10m is fine. Not sure if that's enough to get it done any more though, he looks so damn good. I can only imagine the smile on his agents face while watching him play. I sure hope he's still on the team next season, not much else to say.You don’t trade a player like Willy. Franchise player.
At this point $10M AAV is a good deal if he agrees to sign at that.
There are currently 14 players with cap hits of $10m+. LA and Florida with 2 each are only teams with multiple players. Having 4 next year would make the Leaf trail blazers.I said it a month ago, 10m is fine. Not sure if that's enough to get it done any more though, he looks so damn good. Ya, were trail blazers. LOL.There are currently 14 players with cap hits of $10m+. LA and Florida with 2 each are only teams with multiple players. Having 4 next year would make the Leaf trail blazers.
Pretty sure we had a difficult time scoring against Florida and in general Matthews and Marner's scoring dries up come playoffs.I'd trade him in a heart beat for two solid 5m defensemen. We don't need his scoring we need some sandpaper in front of the net.
We won't win with this line up.
Speaking of this, why on opening night did they introduce him as “from xxx Sweden, William Nylander”Don got some things very wrong. Nylander was a bad look. Thing that is most hilarious about it is that he is Canadian. Born in Calgary and he treated him as though his a Swedish princess.
Ya. And that was with Nylander. Know who won the cup? A team that had balanced scoring and great defense because they didn't spend 50 percent of the their cap on 4 guys.Pretty sure we had a difficult time scoring against Florida and in general Matthews and Marner's scoring dries up come playoffs.
Yeah too bad Edmonton didn't trade McDavid last year, what with his trade value being higher than ever.and his trade value is soaring, two sides to a coin……..
For sure, the price is only going up.I said it a month ago, 10m is fine. Not sure if that's enough to get it done any more though, he looks so damn good. I can only imagine the smile on his agents face while watching him play. I sure hope he's still on the team next season, not much else to say.
He's born in Calgary but moved to USA around age 3 then from 14 on lived in Sweden. I'm guessing he spent most if not all off seasons in Sweden as well and plays internationally for Sweden. Hence the from Sweden intro.Speaking of this, why on opening night did they introduce him as “from xxx Sweden, William Nylander”
There's only so much you can get for a rental player.Ya. And that was with Nylander. Know who won the cup? A team that had balanced scoring and great defense because they didn't spend 50 percent of the their cap on 4 guys.
Someone has to go. Marner or Willy. And Marner kills penalties. So he's more versatile than Nylander.
Nylander should be traded while stock is high
I wouldn't bet against him at this point, that's for sure. For sure, the price is only going up.
i bet he cracks 100 points this season.
roger that, but a signed 88 means you can't afford the Bertuzzi's, Domi's and Jarnkrok's..........Yeah too bad Edmonton didn't trade McDavid last year, what with his trade value being higher than ever.
I'm willing to trade the Bertuzzi's, Domi's and Jarnkrok's way before I'm willing to trade Nylander.
the pie can only be sliced into so many pieces especially when half of said pie goes to 4 forwards. Doesn't leave much for the D, G, and remaining F's to eat does it.........There are currently 14 players with cap hits of $10m+. LA and Florida with 2 each are only teams with multiple players. Having 4 next year would make the Leaf trail blazers.
Pretty much this as Robyn Regehr was born in Brazil but don’t ever remembering any teams introducing him as Brazilian. He's born in Calgary but moved to USA around age 3 then from 14 on lived in Sweden. I'm guessing he spent most if not all off seasons in Sweden as well and plays internationally for Sweden. Hence the from Sweden intro.
The giveaways are fairly consistent with his usual play, if even a bit better.Take this with a grain of salt because I can't figure out what the NHL considers a hit sometimes but Nylander according to NHL.com has throw more hits this year than Knies.

Except for the fact that it is always goal scoring that turns out to be their achilles heel in the playoffs.I'd trade him in a heart beat for two solid 5m defensemen. We don't need his scoring we need some sandpaper in front of the net.
We won't win with this line up.
Add a number 1 goalie off of entry contract and a solid 2nd droger that, but a signed 88 means you can't afford the Bertuzzi's, Domi's and Jarnkrok's..........
Just can’t have everything 34 isn’t going anywhere, JT and Marner have NTC’s so if you sign 88 does that mean you let 16 walk?Add a number 1 goalie off of entry contract and a solid 2nd d
If scoring was a problem it would show itself in the regular season, offense isn’t this teams problem……it’s poor cap distribution………Except for the fact that it is always goal scoring that turns out to be their achilles heel in the playoffs.
Most will understand this in due time.....but taking goals away will always make it harder to win in the playoffs.

Especially if someone thinks that taking 40 goals out of the lineup is the way to win, or even smart.Cap distribution is not a problem that shows during a game, scoring is, and it has been scoring that has been our problem in the playoffs.
