Fan base bashing needs to stop. Posts have been removed. Trolling also isn't allowed. Those folks will be dealt with as well. Rangers fans who are having respectful discussions are always welcome. Those posts remain.

The Kings and Rangers sub-forums exist mainly for the enjoyment of that team's fans. Do not visit team forums to cheer against nor demean their team. In other words, if you want to cheer for the Kings and criticize the Rangers, do it on the Kings board.

Demeaning fan bases is not OK in any forum, and there is zero tolerance on the main site forums (Playoffs and NHL talk). We allow light-hearted ribbing to a point here, but it's time to cool it in this thread.

The Rangers have a 6-2 playoff series record over the last 3 years. The only teams to beat them were the Devils and Bruins, and both teams went on to the Cup Final. They're clearly good. Nobody is taking anyone lightly, on either side.

It's funny how the Rangers were originally scheduled to be the team that the Kings were going to play when the Cup banner was raised. Then the lockout happened, Chicago was scheduled after it was over, and the Kings only killed that demon last night.

I'm on a "pay-as-we-play" plan so I haven't seen the damage yet to my credit card (supposed to be charged this morning).

The WCF was expensive. But I have a feeling its not going to be anything like the SCF.

Interesting note: I was in Europe at the start of this season...I had to sell all three tickets in my portfolio in both the Rangers game and the Senators game.

None of the tickets sold. It was opening night for the Kings at home against the Rangers and the tickets were priced reasonably. Still, they didn't sell. I am thinking it was the middle of the week or something like that, that was part of the issue.

But I was shocked. Thought there would be plenty of people want to go to opening night. And against the Rangers.

I bet it was more the possible/pending lockout. I know I was going to fly down for the banner raising, but I was going to wait to buy tickets until the lockout was surely avoided. By the time it ended and the opener was scheduled, I couldn't get away from work.

It is big possibility that here in Slovenia in Kopitars home town Jesenice will make public live watching of all SC final games in hockey hall, which can accept up to 6.000 spectators...

Majority of games will start at 2:00am our local time.

Congrats Kings fans! Great to see you knock off the Hawks. What a nail biter!!

NY Rangers fan here, but I come in peace and only want to say; here's to a GREAT series between our teams. Looking forward to some great hockey after that nonsense with the Habs.

Let's do this!! :yo:

That's incredible. If you go, you have to take a picture for us!

As a Ranger fan since the 1970's, I can assure you no NYR fan is cocky about this series. Most think that we do not match up well with the Kings. We all feel that Lundqvist will have to carry us. Most sensible fans hope we can get to a game 7.

Good luck. The kings give us a challenge, but we are no push overs either. Both teams are here for a reason.

Drop the puck and the team that is better for 4 nights are the champs.

Feeling is mutual

Should be a great series.

I, of course, think the Kings are going to win, but it's not going to be totally one-sided in any way.

I wish people would stop being surprised that anyone is picking the Kings to win because that's not how polls work. Just because a landslide of folks are picking the Kings to win, it could be by a small margin. i.e. even if 90% of folks picked the Kings to win the series, that doesn't mean they're picking them to roll the Rangers over, that just means they could believe--as I do--that this is a powerful team that has won a cup, made it to the WCF to lose to the Hawks, and now made it back to the SCF all in consecutive years and that they've been tempered by this year's road to the finals by teams that employ a style that usually kills them. We've defeated our biggest nemesis, game back from 3-0 in a series, and won 3 game 7s on AWAY ice, and now we're going into a series with a similar-style team as us with home ice advantage. I think that makes them the favorite and I don't understand at all how that's offensive in any way.

If anything, in winning high scoring games, we've proved not just resilient, but adaptable. I'm excited to see a 'return' to defensive hockey and I think that plays right into our hands.

The Rangers have always struck me as a team that on paper should do better than it does. I have always considered them very deep, especially on D. I don't know what will happen; I think the Kings are in the driver's seat, but I think the Rangers are deeper than the Ducks, and that one still went to 7.

That being said, there is alot of things I am confident about against the Rangers. The biggest is that they totally play East Coast style hockey; they cycle alot, float around, and protect the middle more than attack the puck carrier. I think the Kings biggest advantage will come in possession.

People also talk about the Ranger's speed; I think we are equally fast. I also think our slower guys (Mitchell, Greene, Regher) have made up for their lack of speed with solid positioning and defensive play. And again, all the teams we faced before have been hailed as fast and explosive; the Rangers are the least fast and explosive of the 3.

People say the Kings will be spent, but didn't the rangers play like one less game than us? 7,7,6 right?

Mostly I'm worried about king Henrik, but we have traditionally been able to expose him a bit.

I know the Kings can do it. After all this, they pretty much have to. Team of Destiny.

Thanks and same to you guys.

With Hank being on his game anything is possible and I think it is going to be one heck of a series regardless.

I agree here is to an injury free series where the best team wins on how great its team plays hockey and nothing else.

This has been an amazing run for the Kings.

Granted, I like them with the Oilers and Senators, but I haven't felt this much fun following a team in a long time (especially when the primary team is the Oilers). I've had time to watch most of the games.

Here in Edmonton, I've taken so much taunting while rooting for the Kings. "down 3-0, the Sharks are the better team RIGHT NOW" "They can't beat the Ducks" "Chicago will send them to the golf course"

Amazingly, they've defied all odds. Heck, my western conference bracket was perfect this year in predictions, only two series were off in the amount of games.

Keep it up LA. I believe they can beat the Rangers. Can never count this team out. It's truly amazing.

Thanks for stopping by. You have a special team that's done special things this season. Here's to a great series between our two teams.

Kings in 6. Good luck guys, always pulling for the West Coast.

Appreciated. Thanks.

Hey Tony, just for the record, I only visited here for pure hockey reasons. I didn't come here to get bashed, nor bash anyone else. I have the utmost respect for the Kings as a team and their fan base. This guy just thrashed me. Hey, I know you had to do what you felt you had to do, and believe me, I get it. But, he made it personal. Also btw, I don't even remember who it was......and I don't care. I do feel I have the right to be here, as long as I play by the rules. this "fan" should treat people with respect.

You do and feel free to use the report post button if you feel something is off/offensive.

But FYI, requoting the relevant part of the rule for all visitors:

2) Trolling: Do not make posts or threads with the sole purpose of starting a dispute. Note that a person disagreeing with your opinion is NOT trolling; please keep it civil, even if you're sure the other person is wrong. When visiting the team forums, please note that they are fan forums for that team and are here mainly for the enjoyment of that team's fans. Do not visit team forums to cheer against nor demean their team. In other words, if you want to cheer for the Habs and criticize the Bruins, do it on the Habs board. And if someone is doing the opposite on the Bruins board, don't start flaming them to defend the honor of your team. Either ignore it or respectfully disagree and move on. Wishing illness or injury on someone will almost always be regarded as trolling or offensive. We do not permit any forums to be used to demean/insult the fans of other teams. That is considered trolling. Copying posts from one HFBoard team forum to another for this purpose is considered trolling.

People talk about the Ranger's great D, but... I dunno, I saw them give up a LOT of breakaways.

Good luck in the finals guys.

I usually check out other teams boards if they're on a big losing streak to see who they think is playing bad and such, and I remember earlier in the year you guys were on like an 8 game loss streak and fell out of your playoff spot and talking about how a top 5 pick was a possibility.

Now you're in the Stanley Cup Finals, gotta have some faith, hockey is unpredictable, haha.
