Long time NYR fan coming in to congratulate you guys on beating Chicago and to say good luck. It'll be a different series than the Hawks. Our goalie can make routine saves and the Rangers actually play defense. But you won't be seeing an offense remotely close to Chicago. Hopefully it's a good series and hopefully Kopitar goes easy on us... the guy is a beast and I'd argue the best two-way forward in the game. Would be awesome to see him win the Selke, because he honestly deserves it. Anyway, good luck in the series ;)

Yeah, I think it'll be a close series. Your team is the best of the East and really earned everything you got. World-class goalie and a team that's come together and is fun to watch. I hope we win, but I wish you a good game. And hey, Kopi is getting some attention in the East? Nice! :thumbu:

And on Wednesday, HOCKEY!!! :hockey:

Lundqvist has lost at least one game 7 as a Ranger.

Yes, he lost his first game 7, in 2009. Those Rangers - anchored by Wade Redden on D smfh! - provided Lundqvist with 15 shots of offensive "support" that game. Since that game 7 in 2009, Lundqvist has not lost another one and since then has a game 7 goals against of 0.80 and a .973 save pct while setting the all-time NHL record for consecutive game 7 wins by a goalie.

LA has their own well documented game 7 dynamos, including three straight wins this year alone, and NYR fans fear them, respect them, and are very aware of who they are. We are confident in our goalie and team. As we should be. But we also respectfully recognize we are facing a recent Cup Champion, who just eliminated the reigning Champs, and understand why we are the underdog and know full well the mountain we have to climb if we are fortunate enough to win this mess.

I've been playing and watching the game for over 4 decades and I love great two-way players. Even as a NYR fan, I used to love going to Nassau Coliseum to watch Bryan Trottier, who was a beast. For me, it's easy to see how good Kopitar is and in my personal opinion he is the best two-way forward in he NHL. He just literally has no holes in his game. He can beat you defensively, with a hit, a goal, a great pass... the dude is just a superb, utterly complete hockey player. Hopefully he snags the Selke and starts getting the media recognition he deserves.

When you got nothing else, you gotta go after spelling or grammar

Kings should have Tweeted back...

Poor form to go right into spelling and such.

I was reading the comments section and man, the Rangers fans were acting like "It's over before it even started" because of guaranteeing. No. Deliver it first and for once, I much rather see the Los Angeles Kings deliver on this mathematical inequality, "213 > 212."

After all, the Lakers did deliver so against the Knicks this past March 25, 2014. :naughty:

The Kings may win this series, they may lose, but they have given me no reason to doubt them. Just look what they've managed to do. Quick hasn't been great, and they're still here. Kopitar didn't score a goal against the Hawks, and the Kings still scored more goals than they did. Down 0-3. Losing 3 straight to the Ducks. Mentally overcoming the Hawks always getting the best of them, which probably happened in the 3rd period of Game 2. The Game 7's on the road.

The Kings haven't faced a goalie like Lundqvist in the playoffs. The Rangers haven't faced a team like the Kings in the playoffs. The only teams that have beaten the Rangers so far over the last 3 years in the playoffs were teams that went to the final. The only team to beat the Kings so far in the playoffs over the last 3 years was last year's champ. Neither of those things will change when this series is over. These two teams have played the most and 2nd most playoff games over the last 3 years. That's good stuff all around.

Nice post. That's good stuff right there. Maybe I'm the only one in hoping it's NOT one sided either way. I'm looking forward to exciting "biting your fingernails" type play, each and every game.
Milbury and Jones accoladed the Kings/Hawks series as being THE most well played, highly skilled exciting conference finals EVER!, and could only hope there will be no dropoff for the Cup.

Look I'm rooting for the Kings to win their 2nd Cup in 3 years, and I think they'll pull it off. As long as they take NYR out in 6 games or less, because if they let them hang around till game 7, I'm going with Lundqvist. It's a whole new ballgame by that game, in which it's likely the best goalie will win the game (that is of course imo), and in Game 7's that is Henrik Lundqvist.

You do know Quick is 6-0 in game 7's right?

going through 2012 clips, games, stats... still, my fav is

.

been there, done that, in kopi's home town. boy, bring that beauty back.

What if we lose? EVERYBODY who is not a Ranger's fan is expecting us to win. What if the expectations are so high that we actually lose?

Honestly I've been thinking the same thing today. The Kings are being upped so much that the Rangers only have to avoid tripping over themselves to win. Kinda scared that Lundqvist goes mental and really locks down. Really thought the Kings would steamroll anyone from the East until today. I mean come on, we beat the Sharks, Anaheim and Chicago. We're talking serious powerhouses. Can't wait until tomorrow to see what exactly we're facing.

I doubt that affects the players at all. Remember, the players expect to win. Mostly just us fans get caught up in stuff like that. That being said, the Kings were big favorites in 2012 as well. Regardless, think about this...the Kings have been the favorites in their last 2 Stanley Cup Final appearances. Oh how far we have come.
