I didn't have anyone's home addresses to send my Christmas card to this year, so here it is

Merry Christmas my friends!

The most offensive thing in that entire photo is the parquet.

That's cat abuse, is what it is.

****ing nailed it! Radiohead blows.

In an interview with Esquire UK, Gallagher was asked if he was “aware” of the hierarchy of UK bands. He responded, “I’m aware that Radiohead have never had a ****ing bad review. I reckon if Thom Yorke ****ing **** into a light bulb and started blowing it like an empty beer bottle it’d probably get 9 out of 10 in ****ing Mojo. I’m aware of that.”

Matty, Buddy, it is that easy isn't it? Just cut down on the junk and exercise. Yet, people still want to get the bypass surgery.:shakehead

It really is that easy. On the surface and after the withdrawl effects pass from 'OMG I need some food in me' phase. I'm working operating room starting January (another big thing in my life!) and most surgeons will say behind doors that the most feared patient is the morbidly obese patient. Recovery times are much longer, pulmonary embolism can occur; respiratory failure; gastrointestinal leaks from the breakdown of the staple or suture line; stomal obstruction or stenosis, and bleeding(Steinbrook, p. 1077). Difficulty with surgery is more problematic as more cutting time is needed and anatomical landmarks are harder to find with the excess adipose tissue. I asked one doc what some of the benefits were to being obese with surgery. The reply? 'Return to normal diet. Some come into the post-anesthetic recovery room hungry for food'. That's to individuals who are in the 400+ lb category, however.

Many just want the fast fix. The golden bullet. That is why the MLM companies that sell fat-blockers thrive. "I couldn't eat this whole pizza before, now I can with this fat-blocker!!!". Or just take one slice, enjoy it, and not have horrendous diarrhea later? Because people do not want self control? When the option to disgustingly binge is available, it will be taken? I can't answer those questions, but just food for thought...pun intended ;)

Finally, weight loss surgery (gastrix bypass or roux-en-y) is not a golden ticket. It can be likened to a man-made anorexia which makes you feel full faster. But some patients will outright keep eating so much that the surgery was useless. Psychologists should really be put to use first with the sort of problem. Fix the mental issue first, then proceed to weight loss surgery. With one third of America obese and three quarters overweight (National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, 2012) this shows we have a systemic issue of weight problem (it's bad in Canada too) and I personally believe Regan started it all with the agricultural push in his time in office, along with massive amounts of high fructose corn syrup pushed into products we consume.

I'll never understand the Family Guy appeal. That show blows.

I was always pretty medium on the show. These days I can't really watch it, especially after the southpark that was on it. Pretty well hit the nail on the head and now when I see it I can only picture manatees pushing joke balls together to come up with their premises.

Thought the video was funny though :(

Thinking about moving to Clearwater or Tampa. Cali kinda sucks. I'll miss you guys for sure but at least I'll have hockey. That is mandatory!

What changed your mind? The crumbling infrastructure, the atrocious state accounting, the grotesque gas prices, some of the highest income taxes in the country, the record high housing prices, or all of the above?

What is the average house price there? British Columbians pay around 300-400K a house, depending on where it is...but not in Van, that place has crazy cost.

Southern California is about 800k

Vancouver is basically Los Angeles/San Francisco, BC.

Average home price in LA is roughly $550,000 last I checked; along with an average rental price of roughly $2500. LA and SF are the two most expensive rental markets in the country. Both markets require roughly 48-52% of monthly income.

And that's in freedom currency! Take that 800K and tack on another 300k as my currency!

I've heard stories of people spending outrageous rent in SF. Saw a picture of a couple asking for a 2 bedroom in SF price of 900/month, gave me a small laugh. Average price of 2500 a month is bonkers.

USD goes far in Canada right now. I'd be investing if I had the funds. Especially in a market like Calgary where the economy has been hit, but will surely rebound. I've seen some monstrous deals.
