It blows my mind that some people are still saying it's not time for Maurice to go.
What if the new coach makes Wheeler into a 100 point man ... would you want to trade him?Of course. Should have happened last season.
Other issue is the players worth anything in a trade should be the players the team is building around. One, Wheeler, is untradeable anyway.
Hmmmmm ... sounds like Maurice knows what's around the corner.I think some of the mothers better have a talk with potty mouth Maurice, also he is crazy delusional if he thought the team played the way he thinks they played

. I don’t understand that either. Did the league freeze Buff’s 8 million dollar cap space ? Why couldn’t Chevy use it ? Teams get cap relief for LTIR players. Most GMs use that allowance on a regular basis.
I must have missed the fact that the league isn’t allowing us to use the cap space.
Are Maurice’s comments satire?

Of the top 5 forwards he would be the best candidate to trade except he has a NMC and he has $$$ and term. He is untradeable. What if the new coach makes Wheeler into a 100 point man ... would you want to trade him?
I'm done sticking up for this guy... he's gotta GTFO!
He would've needed a .966 to get it to OT and a 1.000 for the regulation win.0.862
I think we turn it around after the All-Star break, with few if any changes to personnel. I'm not worried.
Well it’s not like he does not have much experience in that.Hmmmmm ... sounds like Maurice knows what's around the corner.
That’s the juggling GMs do these days. Someone is always bound to be injured, so cap relief comes and goes. If no relief is available, just keep Buff on LTIR until he’s 100% ready to play. (Which is unlikely this year). Do you think Toronto’s GM wouldn’t be using this cap space ? (Maybe a bad example )The other GMs can use cap space of injured players because there is some certainty around their situation that they won't be returning to play in the middle of the season (eg David Clarkson, Nathan Horton). With the Jets situation there is no certainty. Chevy can technically trade for another 7 million dollar player (or multiple players that add up to that amount) right now however he won't because if the Buff situations resolves with him being cleared to play then the Jets would screwed and caught with their pants down being over ~6million above the cap and needing to emergently dump players to become cap compliant, basically in a position to get taken advantage of by other GMs.
Unbelievable take isn’t it ?
Let’s not get political.I think Maurice has now adopted the Donald Trump strategy. He now has his own version of the "facts" that unfortunately do not reflect reality.
If the coach is fine losing 4-1 this just instills a culture of accepting losing that will be very difficult to overcome without a regime change. I honestly thought he was better than this.
But hey, it's amazing the renewed attitude that a couple of wins can bring. I haven't written these boys totally off yet. One ray of hope - gotta give props to Schief for finally dropping the mits.
No problem.... I’m just a country boy from Dauphin.

There is no bandaid fix for our issues, to many holes right now. D is completely overwhelmed, zero scoring threat outside our top 6, added to weak goaltending and this is a mess.
With Lowry out a month, getting Little back just has us breaking even at the center position. Poolman is a ways out, same with Beaulieu. We pretty much need all of them to return immediately after our break to have any shot at turning this around, and that’s not happening.
No coach is righting this season either, no use firing Maurice as this is beyond his repair.
I think we might need to cut bait on playoff aspirations, start developing some kids for next season and ride the season out as is.
I would evaluate Maurice at the offseason, hopefully get a solid prospect at the draft, look to get Samburg signed, resolve the Buff situation along with our holes on the backend, and go from there.
This season smells done...
