I thought we came out slow and weren’t ready really to take charge of the game,” said Battalion coach Ryan Oulahen. “It’s something that you want to do, especially when you’re on home ice, so there’s an area for improvement from our team.

Here's a thought. When you are being outshot 10-4, stop playing the trap!!

NB 3 BFD 2 (Just finished watching the replay)

Some random notes:

We all know Jacob Therrien is no saint. But the abuse this player takes occasionally borders on the extreme. Early(ish) 1st per., defender L. Moore 4 drove Therrien into the net from behind, might have clipped the cross bar on the way down and in. In keeping with league standards, no call. 9 min. mark 1st, Moore and JT are skating side by side, Moore puts an arm around the neck and throws him to the ice. Inexplicably, 2 min. roughing. Kudos to JT6 for not retaliating on both of these. To cap off a fine evening, late 3rd Moore took 4 min. high (maybe low) sticking on Van Steensel. While the penalty did not result in the OT winner being a PP goal, it led directly to it.

Mike Mac 34 was a difference maker, both goalies were outstanding.

Solid road game, formula for success: win the shots by 14, win the faceoffs by 6, win the PPGs by 1, et voila, OT win.

Acknowledging it is far too early (10 games, we’ll use a multiplier of 7) to project a few season totals, let’s do it anyway.

Ethan Procyzsyn – on pace for 56G, not sustainable, but wouldn’t 40 or so look kind of neat, after first 2 seasons of 5 and 15?

Jacob LeBlanc – pace 84 points, again not sustainable, but it is refreshing to see the offensive output hinted at in locations prior to NB. The -8 is kind of ugly, though.

Twin Andrew – pace 14G, just broke off 8 game goalless streak. Mid teens last 2 seasons, I think we are hoping for more.

Cap’n OVS16 – pace for 7G. We knew reaching 41 again wouldn’t happen without D-Wake and Tony Romo along for the ride. But reverting back to first 2 seasons of 10 and 11 is kind of scary. I think we are hoping for more.

4 Aaron Enright is in, 22 Zac Wilson is out as their 1 game at a time rotation continues. 34 Mike McIvor has the net, 30 Nate Krawchuk for SBY. Attendance could approach 3800.

I didn’t expect to hear words of wisdom tuning into your pregame show. That guy speaking to the team was all right.

No suspension for Sudbury Wolves forward Blake Clayton, who was handed a match penalty for slewfooting in North Bay on Sunday. Will be available when the Wolves rematch the Battalion on Friday night.

It could have been a suspension on both of his penalties on that play. But like delusional Leafs fans their board will claim both were clean.

You have to have rocks in your head if you think Turley is a 3-4 Dman!!! Wow, Enright, Wilson & Greer have shown more as rookies!
I think it has to do with doing right by the player. Turley has been given very limited opportunity to develop during his first 2 season. Not giving the player a chance to improve could impact future players and their desire to report to North Bay. That said, I believe they will continue to roll with Turley until such time that he improves or they cut ties with him if he continues to show little to no promise. He was a 3rd round pick coming out of one of the best u16 teams in history which obviously inflated his draft value. A parent of an opposing team with an 06 player said that watching Turley struggle is no surprise as he’s been “this way” his entire career.

AC Houlder was in his ear all night. He's always on the wrong side of the puck. He has put his time in ( like Rismond) but I don't see him getting much better. Giving him 2nd pairing minutes in a one goal game was questionable. Oh well, on to tonight's game!

Lacks instinct. Skates like the wind. Too bad
Maybe there’s a sucker who will take him. Kind of like the Outwater saga lol

What's the deal with "phantom roster dman" Declan Gallivan?? Is he real? Is he in NB? Anybody seen him?

Good one. That hurts!
Best of luck the rest of the way. Great job on the Wakley/Moses trade. Next 6 games between us should be fun…
It’s true (the next 6 games part). The best 8 games of the season regardless of how the rosters stack up. Both sides always bring it.

Battalion brass has been open about the timelines for him. Right from the start of the year they’ve said he’ll be here in mid November and hopefully playing by December.

McIvor out today, Nadon backing up Larocque. It could be 2 seasons in a row where the Wooofers have taken our starter out with “accidental crease crashes” Seems to be a trend.
Also going 11/7 with Richter out and Wilson in as the 7th D.

Long had a load of goals and points as a rookie in the GOJHL.

A 5th seems completely reasonable. Will need some time to adapt and grow at the OHL level. Not a big player.

Really enjoy both Enright and Greer’s game. Turley reminds me a bit of Pacey Schlueting, really doesn’t show much of anything out there

I said I would (prefer) J.Newton. He is a centre; and at this time a better body checker, and defensive player.
If you disagree with that, it is you that needs to watch a game.
Completely different players. Moses has pro size and lots offensive upside. Had most of his points on PP which 1st rounders typically get. JN is a two way center whose very defensive and physical as Dirty said. Teams need both types. Only a few pics apart. As JN matures he will likely be a shut down center who will give them toughness and secondary scoring. He just doesn't get the minutes in Barrie. Both aren't afraid to drop their gloves which is rare with young players. Newton hasn't seen any PP or played on top 3 lines in his time there. He may get moved this season as Barrie loads up. Late birthday who likely won't see much more than 6-10 mins a night on a stacked Barrie team. Marty likes his vets its very well known. When they played together some nights Moses outplayed Newton and some nights other way around. Both are great team players and kids -just very different. NB fans will love Moses he should get lots of opportunities there. JN will get his opportunities likely in middle 6 next year.

He cried his way into a trade to his hometown Battalion! His Dad did the same thing when he was in the OHL with the Oshawa Generals (Got traded to Sudbury which is close enough to North Bay to stop his constant crying). Both got extremely homesick as would not stop crying until they got traded. Briir is not worth a 5th round pick!! Pretty big favor from the Battalion to the Long Family.
